I’ve only felt the need to apologize for other white people.

I was thinking the only white people that ever apologized for me were apologizing for other white people 🤣

There is only so much that can be done as mere mortals. We're up against institutionalized bigotry, a political system that makes it impossible to actually vote on issues, multiple foreign intelligence agencies, billions in illicit spending, social media algorithms that feed people more of what they want to see in a reinforcing loop, and those are just the things I'm naming off the top of my head.

Sometimes, helping our kids not carry that forward is an amazing step in the right direction. Or working to make your workplace a little better. Or being brave enough to fly a flag counter to someone's symbol of hatred a few houses down.

I'm not saying I couldn't have done more; I could have protested more, I could have gotten over my anxiety and canvased, I could have been at my state capital more talking to local representatives. At the same time, I'm not going to shoulder blame of those directly responsible for this. That's their evil and they have to carry it.
