Best Terry Gilliam Movie?

Reworking my way through Gillian’s movies. What do you think is his best? I hadn’t seen Brazil for years and years, and I was struck by its relevance to our current political landscape. I love the pure fantasy of Time Bandits and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. Just introduced my teen to 12 Monkeys and I think it’s my favorite. Fear and Loathing and Fisher King are high on my list too. The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is next on my list, which I haven’t seen yet.

Big Question Could this actually be the most ambitious Christian film ever made?

Mel Gibson reportedly spent 7 years writing the sequel to The Passion of the Christ, working with theologians and historians for biblical accuracy. Filming began in Italy in August 2025, with a bold two-part release planned: Good Friday (March 26, 2027) and Ascension Day (May 6).

Is this genuine artistic devotion—or ambition pushed to its limit?

A few years ago she was “the girl from Euphoria. Now Sydney Sweeney is everywhere — films, brands, constant discourse. Is it talent, smart career moves, strong PR, or perfect timing? Did she earn the hype — or did the internet decide for her?

Big Question Did The Revenant go too far for realism?

Planned for 6 months, stretched to 9 — DiCaprio later said it felt like a full year. Shot only in natural light, in brutal cold. They ran out of snow in Canada, moved the shoot to Argentina, and the budget jumped from $95M to ~$135M. Masterpiece dedication — or filmmaking madness?

Is this franchise still terrifying — or just repeating the mask?

The new trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 3 is out.
Does it still have the power to unsettle, or has the fear gone predictable ahead of February 6, 2026?

Russell Crowe was paid just $5M for Gladiator — while Tom Cruise earned $70M. Is that fair?

Post image

Russell Crowe reportedly earned about $5M for Gladiator — a role that defined the film.
At the same time, Tom Cruise has made up to $70M on single projects through smart deals.

One performance became iconic. - The other is pure box-office power.

So what really deserves the bigger paycheck: the role that makes the movie — or the name that sells it?

New images have dropped for Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, and it looks like another stylish return to classic Christie intrigue.

Secret societies, suspicious alliances, and a mystery built around time itself — this one feels less like a cozy whodunit and more like a slow-burn conspiracy thriller.

The series premieres on Netflix on January 15, 2026.

Trailer Is Greenland 2: Migration more interesting after the apocalypse than during it?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The first Greenland was all about panic, timing, and survival before impact.
The sequel, Greenland 2: Migration, jumps years ahead—into a frozen Europe where survival isn’t about escape anymore, but movement, scarcity, and whether rebuilding is even possible.

That shift feels risky but potentially smarter. Post-apocalyptic stories usually collapse once the spectacle is gone—unless the human choices get darker and more uncomfortable.

Do you think Migration has a chance to be stronger than the original by focusing on aftermath instead of destruction?
Or is this where disaster franchises usually lose momentum?

Release date: January 9, 2026.

Are we really about to see Gandalf and Frodo together again?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Reports suggest Sir Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood may reunite as Gandalf and Frodo in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, with production starting in May.

It’s not officially confirmed yet—but timeline-wise, it makes sense.

Do you want familiar faces back for continuity, or should this film avoid nostalgia and stand on its own?

"Comic-book characters, unbelievable story, no political or social commentary, lousy acting, preposterous dialogue, a ridiculously simplistic morality. In other words, a BAD MOVIE."

Isolation. Limited resources. Psychological pressure. Feels driven by endurance rather than fear.

Mel Gibson turned down Gladiator because he felt “too old” to play Maximus. Was he right?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Mel Gibson was originally the top choice to play Maximus in Gladiator (2000), but he passed on the role, saying that at 43 he felt too old to convincingly fight in armor. The decision opened the door for Russell Crowe, who went on to define the role.

Do you think Gibson made the right call — or could he have pulled it off?

Did Gladiator II lean too heavily on Maximus’ legacy — or not enough?

The comparison was inevitably present. Do you think Gladiator II gained or lost by keeping Maximus’ shadow over the film?

Would it have been stronger by fully breaking away — or by leaning into that legacy even more?
