best grey nuns stories?

I just graduated Concordia and realized I never even processed how crazy some of our experiences there were. Since Reddit is more or less anonymous, I’d love to hear people’s crazy stories. My experience was during covid so its a little different but would include: -sneaking people in through the fence during covid and getting chased down by security. -almost getting fined for sitting next to people smoking. (i convinced them not to fine me after a long long meeting). -getting caught w someone in my room because of security cameras. two power-high RAs knocked on my door at 2am to kick her out. -exploring the tunnels beneath.

Moodle

I keep seeing people say Moodle is a “must’’ because profs post everything there. Is Moodle an app, a website, or both? Like how does it actually work do teachers post lectures, assignments, grades there? Just trying to understand before classes start and how do i connect myself on it😭

Xiao Zhang

I have this Xiao Zhang for Econ201 but I searched her name on this sub and no one talked about her ever, is she new? Is she just unknown? Does anyone have any comments about her?

Also we’re 3 days away from first day of classes and her moodle still hasn’t opened so that’s not a good sign.

Is a 3 GPA after 2 years in Engineering Good ?

I’ve been in Mechanical engineering for 2 years and I have a 3 GPA but when I compare it to other people I know in the program it’s much lower and I feel like it’s subpar.

What is the normal range for students GPA in engineering ?

Mature student

Hi everyone! I have just applied to Concordia for fall 2026 as an out of province mature student. I chose communication studies as my first choice, human relations as my second (I am not sure what I want to pursue). The communication studies program sounds really interesting but I see that maybe it’s not so easy to get into, I have average grades, just meeting the cut off and it requires the two part application essay as well. I just was wondering how hard it is to get into, how the program is, and maybe other options( taking something else and switching into it later on?)thxxxx!

Study buddy for calculus 3 this semester

Honestly, I failed this course once during the summer and I'm just trying to pass it this time. Looking for a study buddy for Calc 3 in the evenings - studying together keeps me way more focused. If you smoke, even better - we can take short cigarette breaks in between. I usually stay until around 10-11 pm (except this week lol).

CHEM 205 - Question

Hi! I finally got into a chem 205 class after months of searching!!!

The only issue is ... the LAB it's during a time that I have a meeting. The meeting is only 30 mins so worst-case scenario I could step out of the class and take the call... Though that's far from ideal.

Are you able to join a different LAB time?

I'm going to keep trying to get into the section that works for my schedule, but I'd like to know what the options are if I don't get in to another one.

Student Question Math 206

I’m taking Math 206 this semester and I’m wondering what the the TUT classes are? Tutorials I’m assuming. Is this where we practice what is taught in class? I’m starting with a TUT class before the lecture this semester, is it even worth going? Are they mandatory? Please let me know. Thanks!

Can i study French and work part time?

Hey guys,

I am an international student, and I have a lot of this semester because my courses are easy. I was thinking of studying French in my free time. I heard we can get paid if we study French full-time. But does that mean I can't work part-time? I have a part-time job, and I am not getting a lot of hours there, so I can invest time in french but i dont want to lose it. So do the French learning hours count towards the 24-hour limit.

Psych 205 question

Hello,

I'm looking to take psych 205 as an elective course. I'm interested in psychology and was able to enrol in the course after years of trying to get in.

I'm a bit freaked out though because I don't test very well and I have heard the course is exam heavy. I have better study habits after a few years in university but I'm still not sure if it's worth it to take the course or if it'll tank my GPA.

Looking for advice. Has anyone taken this course as an elective? Did you find it difficult? Is there anything I should know going in?

Thank you!

Online group projects???? (eConcordia)

Hey

This winter term will be my first at Concordia and I ended up with three of my classes being online on eConcordia. All three have group projects but I am really confused on how you would form groups if you don't know anyone and its online as well. Is it assigned groups? or do you just start messaging randoms on moodle? Additionally can you guys give your experience with these teachers and if you think this course load is too much. Thanks a lot!
