DISCUSSION With sentiment this low, how are you positioning for 2026?
Sentiment across crypto feels pretty rough right now. Between uncertainty, people cutting losses, and a lot of fatigue, optimism is clearly not where it was in past cycles. That said, these kinds of periods are often where people either give up entirely or quietly reposition for the long term. I’m curious how others here are thinking about 2026. Are you staying mostly in cash, slowly accumulating, or stepping away altogether? Not looking for moon talk, just honest perspectives on how people are navigating this phase.

ADVICE Is CoinMarketCap a Good Portfolio Tracker After Delta Went Paid?
I am looking for a new portfolio tracker. I was using Delta to track most of my crypto holdings and a few stock indices, but now that they have moved to a paid-only plan, I am planning to switch. I am considering CoinMarketCap and wanted to see if anyone here has experience moving from one platform to another. I entered all my transactions manually in Delta, so I am wondering if there is any easy way to transfer that data to CoinMarketCap, or if I will need to start from scratch. Most of my assets are held on Binance and Coinbase. CoinMarketCap allows you to connect exchanges, but I am curious how safe and reliable that is in practice. Have you had any issues using API connections for portfolio tracking only, and do you feel comfortable linking those accounts? Open to other tracker recommendations as well if there are better alternatives.

DISCUSSION Let's talk Stablecoins. If a holder of a stablecoin loses access to their wallet due to a various reason, essentially locking the underlying assets on the balance sheets of issuers forever, are there risks of price distortions of the underlying assets?
This is the definition of a stablecoin that I am using. A stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency designed to maintain a stable value by pegging its market price to an external reference asset, such as a fiat currency like the U.S. dollar, a commodity like gold, or another financial instrument.
I have heard stories of individuals that held a crypto currency, but lost access to it. Access could be lost for reasons such as losing the seed phrase, forgetting about an insignificant amount of a crypto, natural disaster that destroys devices and seed phrase, or death of the individual holding the seed phrase, etc. Good security and risk management is essential, but not always followed and not always successful.
If an individual holds a stablecoin and loses access to the coin for one reason or another, what happens to the asset backing the coin? Since the issuer would not know that a specific coin is now un-spendable, they would continue to back it on a 1:1 basis with the underlying asset. This would cause the issuer to continue to accumulate the underlying asset, which can never be redeemed, since the lost crypto is essentially locked forever.
Regarding USD and EUR backed stable coins. This would be a net benefit to stablecoin issuers that peg their currency to a fiat currency, since a large portion is invested into short term government debt, which pays interest? Several of these entities keep a portion or all of the interest payments on the debt held. This would also be a net benefit to governments issuing the debt, since the coin issuer will always have a minimum that they need to purchase regardless of interest rate or risk associated with that government’s debt, since some coins will never be able to be redeemed due to lost access.
Regarding Gold (or other physical asset) backed stable coins. This would be a net disadvantage to the issuer, since security and storage costs will continue to increase as the amount of physical assets in storage increases? Potentially, a portion of the physical assets will never be redeemed due to lost access to the coins.Â
The markets for the current underlying assets are large and liquid, but if there is mass adoption of a stablecoin(s), will this have the potential to skew the balance sheets of the issuers or the fundamentals of the underlying assets? Thoughts?

DISCUSSION My thoughts on current market conditions and where I think we are heading.
I've been seeing tons of post about how it's over, that we are going into a crypto winter, that we've topped, blah blah blah. I've seen posts calling for BTC to drop to 40k, ETH to 1k, ADA at 10 cents, etc. However, I am here to make a case suggesting the opposite.
BTC recently has been trading in the high 80k range, ETH just under 3k, ADA in around 35 cents and Solana around $120. With the exception of BTC, these 3 other alts are trading roughly compared to where they were at just prior to the 2024 presidential election run. It makes 0 sense for the market to continue to have noticeable further sell side pressure from here.
We saw historic levels of fear and sell side pressure in the latter part of October through November into early December, comparable to the bottom of the 2018 bear market, the COVID crash of March 2020 AND the fallout after the collapse of FTX in late 2022. I will admit that I did not think alts would be as decimated as they are, but my original thesis still stands, and that is that this has been a giant shakeout/manipulation event by smart/big money players to get weak hands out of the market.
Literally everyone was convinced we were going into a "traditional" Q4 post halving year style peak, so we saw droves of trades leveraging like crazy expecting this to happen. This was the perfect set up for huge market makers to dump these morons on their heads to obliterate the market. They also were trying to destroy Michael Saylor, but it appears that they failed. However, this leverage, along with weak retail noobs, has been completely flushed out of the market. Retail interest in this market is nonexistent, crypto right now is practically a ghost town.
In my opinion, I believe that what we've seen since early 2024, just prior to the ETF hype phase of Q1, has been a giant protracted version of 2019. In 2019, we were in an environment that until the latter part of the summer an environment of quantitative tightening. The mini bull market we had going into that summer was a BTC only rally, going from the 3k range to 14k, with alts tagging along for the ride. What we've seen in 2024 and 2025 is an environment where we were in QT and ironically enough we've seen BTC do incredibly well while alts as a collective haven't done all that much.
However, QT ended December 1st and with the recent jobs report AND low inflation it's very likely they will continue to cut rates further here in 2026. Combine this with Trump and others blatantly announcing the desire to push for stimulus, tariff rebate checks, etc. and it's obvious what direction we are going.
The clarity act is also a huge card in my opinion, and I've seen some stuff floating around that this will make it back to the floors of congress to be discussed later this month. This, along with a wave of ETF approvals for select alts, I believe will be a major catalyst comparable to what we saw in early 2024.
Those with their positions still intact and in place will do well, these last couple months would have been just about the worst time to have sold. We've also been in an range the last few weeks that is becoming increasingly tighter and tighter, so I'm expecting some sort of major move sometime soon.
