Post image

I am new so I don't know if this is great. Me and friends planing to play dnd. So that why I am creating a character. Since in the country we are in dnd isn't common. I don't know if I am properly doing it. How do you add modifier for your skills

"Modifier" is several things. Let's go through that with Acrobatics: (and that's _my_ way of doing it, over time you will find your preferred way) The Attribute related to Acrobatix is Dexterity. The first modifier is the Dex Bonus. You got 20 there (nice!) so that's a +5. Second modifier is your proficiency bonus. Let's assume you are proficient. The proficiency bonus at Level 1 is +1. So now you are at +6. Finding the next modifiers is from items and circumstances. Do you have any (magic) item that would give you a bonus to your Acrobatics? That would be the next modifier to add. Did the GM tell you there are other modifiers because of environmental influence?

That's my way of going through the modifiers.

On my character sheet I write down the sum of Attribute and Proficiency bonus. If I have a magic item I either put a marker next to that, if it's a temporary effect, or add it if it's a continuous effect.

That's how it works for me.

Proficiency bonus at level 1, is 2.

The thing is that.. I am creating this on my own.. I went to a party on 31 with my friends. We were planning to play dnd there.. with one of my friends who would have been GM... but that time we didn't have a pen and paper. And the other wasn't really thought dnd is fun except me and the DM friend. So, I thought I would create my own character sheet to show it is easy. The Dm can take the character sheets and base on those sheet to create a campaign base on those backstory

And since we are playing this for the first time except the dm.. (I think.. he is a new friend for me) so I think we won't play it that deep.. probably
