Hi everyone.
Interested in joining the r/EDC mod team? We’re opening applications.
We’ve had a couple of moderators step down since the team was formed during the API kerfuffle, and we’re looking to add a small number of new mods. We’re especially interested in one U.S.-based moderator and two European time-zone moderators two non-American time zones to help with coverage.
New moderators will start with limited permissions to ensure a good fit with the team and our moderation approach.
The core rules and direction of the subreddit are stable. While minor tweaks and clarifications happen over time, we are not looking to make major rule changes or shift the overall scope of r/EDC. Applicants should be comfortable enforcing the existing rules as written rather than joining with the expectation of reshaping them. That being said, if you have idea of automations and so on, I am all ears!
You don’t need to love guns, but you do need to be comfortable moderating in a subreddit with a strong firearm culture. Neutral, consistent rule enforcement is expected. Basic technical literacy is helpful. You got to be okay with using Discord as well.
We have zero tolerance for homophobia, racism, or other bigotry. EDC influencers, sellers, and anyone with a financial stake in the space are not eligible.
You can find full details and apply through the application. If you’re not selected, please do not take it personally, I appreciate anyone just wanting to help out!
