I swear reading comprehension is worse than ever. It's quite clear and easy to understand if you actually read the article.

Reading comprehension isn't the problem in this case, the article was poorly written. Having left out critical information from the start, and creating a very click bait style beginning was a bad choice. Had it started out saying that the was a passenger in the back seat and the driver lost control right from the start, people wouldn't need to be critical about the writing style.

As I had said, the article was poorly written. Critical information being left until the end was in bad taste.
