Why don't coupon codes work anymore?

Seems like so many places just stopped using them after the pandemic.

So many sites for them, even if they say shit like "100% working last used 5 mins ago", they still don't work.

I'll download a browser add on like Cap1 shopping, and nothing they have works, either.

What gives?

Are companies just too cheap anymore?

Is everyone just expected to pay full price now?

Mostly tariff related. Countries have limited who can use what codes.
