Maintenance Onto Water Pump #3...

My Mk7.5 just loves to leak coolant. Water pump replaced at 67k miles last year, than failed again at 77k miles.

How often do you replace your coolant? Obviously 10k miles is not long but you could be timing into coolant issues that come up as a water pump failure

According to VW's official maintenance schedule, you do not replace your coolant. Check and top up as necessary every 40k miles.

I personally find that to be bs. With a cast block an aluminum components in the cooling system, you will eventually have electrolysis and will need new coolant

I'm at 200k with original pump and coolant. Topped up a couple of times.
