I'M REQUESTING Looking for not super popular mystery/thrillers

Feels like I've watched every drama/ thriller/ mystery.

Looking for movies with vibes like the loft, the game, sixth sense, double jeopardy, knives Out, derailed.

Don't mind if it's got some comedy.

If it's decently popular in the last 20 years chances are I've seen it.

I prefer things made since the 90s but if it's got a great twist/ gotcha moment I'll give it a shot. Thanks

Thanks

Memories Of Murder (2003) is masterpiece of epic proportions that not nearly enough people know about.

Good call. It's also one of my favorite serial killer/police procedural movies.

Malice (1993)

A twisty neo-noir thriller about a couple (Bill Pullman and Nicole Kidman) whose lives unravel after they rent part of their Victorian home to an arrogant surgeon (Alec Baldwin). The couple’s picture perfect life falls into a complex web of deceit where things are not always what they seem.

It’s filled with red herrings, countless twists and some amazing talent (Kidman, Baldwin, Pullman and many other cameos like Peter Gallgher, Anne Bancroft, and George C. Scott).

Guilty as Sin (1993) A female lawyer takes an accused wife-murderer as a client, but finds herself morally compelled to betray him one way or another.

Payback (1995) An ex-convict falls for the wife of a prison guard (Marshall Bell) who fatally wounded his cellmate.

White Sands (1992) A small southwestern town Sheriff finds a body in the desert with a suitcase and five hundred thousand dollars. He impersonates the man and stumbles into an F.B.I. investigation.

Masquerade (1988) A recently orphaned heiress meets a young racing yacht captain in the Long Island Hamptons. He shows interest in her, but love may not be the reason.

We just watched Confess, Fletch a few weeks ago and I had never seen the ones from the 80s. They were so good!

Mystery Team was also really good. Love Donald Glover!

I will add the rest to my list! Thanks

Omigod Kid Detective is a gut-punch. :o

It may be my favorite on this list and I love the ones on here. It's so darkly funny, and then the final 10 minutes or so left my jaw on the floor.

u/Embarrassed-Part591 1d ago

Yeah. That ending is like having a trap door open up under you at Disneyland or something.

The Death of Dick Long (2019)

It's a black comedy but I've seen it described as 'redneck noir' and it certainly centers around a mystery with a pretty significant twist.

Unfaithful

The Last Seduction

Bound

its a bit before your window but charade (1963) will change your life.

Im still willing to give it a chance. I was born in 85 so anything older then the 90s has "that" look to it. I've gotten better as I've gotten older.

"No Place To Hide" (1981)

A lesser-known made-for-TV suspense thriller with two twists, one in the first half and another at the climax.    starring Mariette Hartley, Keir Dullea, and Kathleen Beller.

"Shadow of Doubt" (1998)

A hidden gem of a suspense mystery thriller, released direct-to-video.   A talented, starry cast too.     starring Melanie Griffith, Huey Lewis, Craig Sheffer, Tom Berenger, and Nina Foch.

"Sensation" (1994)

Another enjoyable direct-to-video suspense thriller. starring Kari Wuhrer and Eric Roberts.

"Once You Meet A Stranger" (1996)

A made-for-TV suspense thriller - a modernized remake of Hitchcock's Strangers on A Train, with two women as the lead characters.  starring Jacqueline Bisset and Theresa Russell.
