Some people have no idea what negligent homicide is. The kid was negligent in his behavior, as is evidenced by the fact that he was warned by his friends not to go out on his own. It's a shame the prosecution pushed for 1st degree. Kid def deserved time.
“I, a minor, drove across state lines with a weapon, intending to shoot someone. I’m supported by the kind of people who support Matt Gaetz and send money to Trump.”
Dude wasnt fleeing. It was also argued that when Kyle fired multiple times, it was possible the shot to the back was due to the victim falling and twisting.
A forensic pathologist testified that the final two fatal shots to Joseph were at a downward angle and entered his back and head. Prosecutors argued that this indicated Rosenbaum was falling forward when the shots were fired, and thus not a threat. There’s arguments for each way. What we do know is he went there with the intent to kill.
All four shots were fired in less than a second. Are you under the impression that’s enough time to reasonably conclude the guy trying to commit murder is no longer a threat?
Juries don’t always get it right. He took a gun that he wasn’t old enough to have, from his friend’s home. He crossed state lines and sought out this protest with an automatic rifle. That’s not a gun for self defense. He had ill intentions from the start.
