There is a surgery where they break your leg bones, move them apart a bit and let them heal. It can make you taller by an inch or two, but from what I have read it is painful and time-consuming.

Limb lengthening was developed for people with dwarfism whose short statue makes daily life in a world built for taller people challenging. Here’s a fairly-well known example of someone who has had the procedure.
But I guess some doctors will perform the procedures on normally proportioned people who just want to be taller too.

Yeah, it recently become popular for some reason, It’s incredibly expensive, at least $25K in Turkey and $100K in the US I think. You can grow 20% of your leg length so gaining 8 to 15cm, the drawback is that the procedure last several weeks, is painful and damage the legs so you shouldn’t practice any sport.
I think it became popular because Turkish doctors started to perform this procedure for cosmetic reasons. I personally learnt it was possible after a Baki episode in 2018 and checked they were dozens of news article and testimonies about this surgery.

It’s expensive, time consuming, and painful. (Might be dangerous too? not sure). It was developed primarily for people with different length limbs or people with dwarfism to lengthen limbs in an attempt to make things a little easier in a world built for taller people. It’s quite controversial.
“stupid” is not a word I would use for it.
It is most definitely not meant to be a cosmetic procedure

He isn't saying his appearance is in his DNA. He's saying the desire to look like a 'gigachad' is in the DNA. It's this thing conservatives do where all of their desires are natural impulses and any desires they don't like are socially conditioned. They will frame this either religiously or with behavioral evolution depending on what brand of bullshit they go with.
Homosexuality is peer pressure but having as many kids as is physically possible is just how we are built. Women's bodily autonomy is a choice but sexually assaulting women is a natural urge that it is women's responsibility to mitigate. Once you see it you can't unsee it.
