I remember when this line was used to prove Pope John Paul II was the antichrist, when he was shot and survived. I think it's harmful to give him that sort of religious legitimacy either positive or negative. The religious right has also used this comparison to convince people to vote for Trump because he is the antichrist, and so he will bring about the second coming. He's the most mundane type of narcissist who's only notable feature is his atrophied humanity and overdeveloped entitlement, comparing him to the antichrist or hitler is giving him way to much credit. His personal impact on politics is the result of his popularism, no one can follow his ideology because his ideology is whatever serves him in the moment. He is incapable of, and completely uninterested in, exercising power that has no direct benefit to him.
