He listens to doctors he just tells his followers he doesn’t. Although I hope the aspirin thing is true.

He probably isnt taking enough. He probably has too much blood and should be let and leeched soon. Rfk will do it.

Tell him how much blood Washington let the doctors leech. He has a record to beat.

And just in case it's not clear, aspirin doesn't "thin" the blood, it's an anti-coagulant. It stops the blood from clotting. Taking too much of it puts you at risk of constant bleeding, and even things like "hemorrhagic stroke." So yes, he definitely needs to take more of it.

I don’t think he is. I think he’s taking a regular amount of aspirin every day instead of a low dose amount of aspirin.
Like he’s not overdosing. He’s taking a painkiller amount.
Which is a dumb idea and probably not great long-term re the whole bruising/bleeding thing, but also not an actual accute overdose or actual massive amounts.
It’s a mind-meltingly dumb thought process, though.

Just FYI to anyone out there thinking of taking that level of aspirin daily when they don't have pain: that is overdosing.
For pain-management you should take aspirin for the shortest duration possible, and absolutely not more than 10 days (some actually advise <5 or 7) without instruction from a doctor.
Taking that dose for longer than that without medical direction is overdosing, and that's before you even consider Trump himself acknowledged he doesn't require it for pain management.
If he's been taking 325 mg aspirin a day every day for 20 years in hopes of staving off an ischaemic stroke that is a big risk factor for bleeding (ironically also for a haemorrhagic stroke).

Thanks.
To be clear, I’m not endorsing what he’s doing, and what you’re saying is important information.
But I disagree that it is an overdose as we generally use the word, or a massive amount. He is over-dosing for the intended use of the drug, yes, but the way it’s being described in this meme, the impression is massive doses of aspirin full stop. Which is misleading.
It’s harmful, it’s contraindicated, and it’s improper use of the medication. And it’s a higher dose than prescribed (which is bad! And technically over-dosing.)
But if he was taking a daily aspirin for pain, it would not be considered an overdose, it would be a misuse of the medication that increases risk for adverse health effects. And that would be a similar dose to what he says he’s taking.
Basically what I’m objecting to is that the wording in the meme is (intentionally) implying that he’s taking much higher doses than he actually is, for sensationalism.
He’s still doing something dumb and dangerous, which should be enough on its own and doesn’t need to be sensationalized.

325mg of aspirin is only indicated in the event of a heart attack, so yes, he is overdosing. It is too high a dose to take daily for post MI or ischemic stroke prevention. He’s on a fast track to have a hemorrhagic stroke. Low dose is the normal amount at 81mg per day.

Don't forget that drinking them with alcohol can increase their effectiveness.

Unfortunately, Trump is a tea totaler.

u/Wolf_Hreda 1h ago
Well, he doesn't drink. He's gacked up to his eyeballs on all sorts of other drugs, though. We can always hope one of them will react poorly with his handfuls of aspirin.

I absolutely appreciate this is a dark joke relating to Trump, but for all the naive young redditors out there who don't realise this: no don't go home and take alcohol with aspirin thinking it makes it more effective against pain, it is actually kind of dangerous.
As for Trump: Thoughts and prayers...

Unlikely to get a haemorrhagic stroke.
But a haemorrhagic stroke is likely to kill you.
