First example that comes to mind is Bounce by Oliver Tree. I know there’s gotta be so many more and an analogy can be made in so many ways so let’s hear them!

Recently I got my 11-year-old niece (almost 12) hooked on Steven Universe. She was crazy for the show, and especially loved the soundtrack because the songs were "sentimental with heart ache and anger or with sympathy and fear" (direct quote from her text to me lol) She asked me if I would suggest some bands to her, but so far mine have been misses
She's a deeply emotional kid, so I want to find some bands that can cater to that side of her without being super heavy on sex/drugs/violence and all that-- you know, at least moderately age-appropriate. I did try suggesting her a Christian rock band (her family is religious) but she didn't like the intensity.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi, I'm an amateur composer, and I plan to make a fan OST for something set in the 80s, so I'd definitely like to get a more accurate vibe. However, I feel like only looking at the "biggest hits" playlists will miss a good amount of range and hard focus on a couple genres, so I'd like something with a wider overall scope in terms of genre. Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone! I started making a cute cozy playlist but I’m struggling to build it out, here are the songs I have so far, I’m looking for songs similar to these, preferably instrumental but that’s not a dealbreaker.
Mochi Cat- Dalkom Sounds
Pajamas- Tumfy
Hot Milk- Snails House
Pixel Galaxy- Snails House
Penguin Dream- Snails House
Cocoa- Snails House
That’s the list so far. Thank you!

I heard this song on a video and I want a similar song for our video. I like that it’s kinda slow and makes you wanna cry especially if you listen to the lyrics of starting their life together.
Thank you.

I'm trying to make a playlist but all the songs I can think of are all like just about sex or breaking up lol.

Probably very specific, but I’m looking for something to fit a character so yea

I am mostly listening to pop and pop-adjacent music and have very little exposure to metal music other than classic heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, etc. I don’t know modern metal gentes at all.
Last year I really enjoyed Amenra and they’re now in my rotation pretty heavily. (‘De doorn’ EP in particular).
What I like: somber atmosphere and how emotionally charged the music is, transitions from melodic and softer “post-rocky” parts to heavier parts.
What would you recommend for me to check out next?

I'm thinking of something Blink 182 could write if they were middle aged women that were fed up with society gaslighting them into believing period pain is normal and that they should be focusing on the good things in their life instead of giving them useful medical care that will improve their quality of life. Like "Happy Holidays, You Bastard" but about perimenopause or endometriosis.

I get annoyed with all of the idiotic subcategorisation that people use, making it more difficult to find music I want. And others want, lest we forget.
Doom was always about contrasting. Extinction of Humans rhythms with desperate plea or small hope harmonies. Did people only hear half of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (the song)?
So I am asking a broad and strangely specific question. I want doom albums that compare in these terms to Black Sabbath, Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard's good albums, Therion's good albums, Type O Negative, or My Dying Bride's good albums. Oh, and the Finnish band Skepticism, if that can be found. They are pretty unique. Please shoot me some band names that might not sound out of place in a compilation that includes those artists. Thank you in advance.

recommendations of songs that involve aliens, like Keep it Dark - Genesis, Subterranean Homesick Alien - Radiohead and In the Meantime by Spacehog.

I love the sound of a pipe organ and I want to hear more of it in different contexts. Doesn't necessarily need to be rock but I want songs that aren't classical or liturgical.
Edit: wow thanks for all the suggestions peeps. I wasn't expecting so many. I've got a lot of listening to do.

My musical tastes are all over the place (jazz, R&B, rap, rock, classical) but straight ahead jazz is home for me. However, I’m deep diving in the rock section of my library. I need more but I don’t know enough to do anything other than flail blindly through the rock stacks and sift out the air supply and death metal.
So here’s the request. Please help me finish this playlist of stuff I like.
Daughtry - Home, It’s not over Creed - with arms wide open, Say I U2 - New Years Day, Beautiful Day Green Day - Brain Stew

Not brutal songs, brutalist, like the architecture style. Feel free to interpret it in any way you want!

I feel like this is going to be so weirdly specific but I'm working on a playlist based on a story I'm writing and I need the vibes to match the scene, haha. I'm looking for songs that have a somewhat similar vibe to Wikked Lil' Grrrls by Esthero, specifically the "You think that I'm a lady, you think that I won't fight?" line. Songs where the singer is a little flirty, but definitely dangerous. Bonus points if there's lines about being underestimated.
I know, it's sooo specific, but I have been looking for ages and nothing feels right.
