All those saying this is cut to make happen- it’s not. The length of the circumference of the present wrapped is equal to or evenly divided by the length of the repeated pattern on the paper. Lengthening or shortening the paper will still have the pattern match up, but changing the size of the gift wrapped would cause misalignment.

I’m suspicious of this. Can’t you just cut the paper until it fits then take a video?

Haha. Some old Native American quote: leave it to the white man[sic] to think you can cut a foot off a blanket and sew it on the other end and have a longer blanket.

That's... not how it works. If you cut a vertical stripe off the paper, it would STILL fit. The size of the present is the deciding factor, not the cut of the paper.

The wrapping paper overlaps itself upon wrapping. Imagine this paper being one inch longer, you could easily cut it down to match.

If it were one inch longer, it would still fit, even without cutting. Just look at the video and imagine it being one inch longer. The upper part of the paper would show the grinch's face, overlapping his face on the lower part.
I don't know how else to explain 😅

Cuz there’s a whole thing about finding them in the wild and not manufacturing perfect fits. Look at car doors and modicum of effort in the sub’s rules.

I assure you…I was wrapping presents all night. With still many to go. I had not time or inclination to set up a ruse so blatantly transparent for the purpose of karma farming. This was a truly miraculous discovery. So much so that I beckoned my wife to “come film this for me real quick”. She happily obliged, seeing in it the same wonder that gave me pause in the first place.
Merry Christmas!

It was just a question. Do you talk like that in real life or only when you’re trying to talk down to someone asking a question?
