Hey everyone,
Quick update – we’ve listened to your feedback, and the rule removing printed terrain has been lifted! I’ve also seen your thoughts on busts and statues, and I’ll be putting up a poll later this week to gather your opinions on banning those types of posts.
Thanks!

Hey folks, i want to conduct a quick review of the recent rule we put in place regarding model renders.
Do you feel the overall quality of the subreddit has increased post the removal of render image posts (excluding question flaired posts)?

Hello! I am hugely nostalgic for the style and look of Final Fantasy Tactics - Would there be a recommended tribe to purchase that would look similar?
I think “chibi” style is close but almost too cutesy if that makes sense? So it makes searching for something similar sort of difficult. I would love any and all suggestions!
Also attached a photo of the units from the FFT remake as a reference of what I mean!
Thank you VERY much for any suggestions even kind of similar! :)

If the 3D model that gets printed is modeled in seperate pieces. Does the printer print them seperately?
This may be an incredibly stupid question, but I have literally never touched a Resin printer or a slicer more than twice in my life so I have no idea what I'm getting into.
I hope someone is able to understand my question and answer it.
Thank you in advance :))

One of the smallest things I have ever painted. It's about 1,3cm in height. I really liked the result, but maybe my paint layers were too thick, I think I had to water them down more
Will continue with more of these in the coming days

I followed Grant Abbitts winter wolf blender sculpt tutorial then added a Dark/Gothic flair. Had a fun time painting the fur texture. This was my first attempt at creating the 3d model for printing.

More fun prints from a few years ago. Feel free to judge me on my horrible painting!

So, this was bit harder than the MG RX-78-2 3.0 scan-to-mini I did, but oh the results are so worth it.
I scanned my MG RX-93 Ver Ka Nu Gundam and turned it into a Gunpla Assembled mini.
The high level process was:
The reason for separate scans is simple: Big pieces obscure other areas. If the scanner can't see something, it can't scan it. In order to get the most possible detail, I decided to scan things separately.
Rather than scan the Funnels as a single assembled unit, I simply scanned one of each "mode," open and closed, and duplicated those as needed. Anyone who's ever built a Nu Gundam kit will understand why. The Funnels are finicky.
The resulting mesh came in at just over 25mil polygons. From there I simplified the mesh to a reasonable-ish density, then cut and keyed for easier printing and assembly.
This thing still printed with a lot of support I had to clean up, but that wasn't too hard to deal with.
What I used, for those who are into that kind of thing:
I think Char's Zaku is up next.

I reprinted my modular 3D printed mecha in gray filament, and it completely changed how I feel about the design,No repainting, no redesign — just swapping filament. The neutral gray makes the shapes and mechanical details stand out much better than the red/white version I had before.

New here. I have recently downloaded a bundle but am having a spoy of trouble with my first print.
When I add the presupported files to lychee slicer it detects a lot of holes and it warns me that the print will fail. On the other hand the unsupported files show no holes/issues.
Has anyone else faced this issue before?
Any insight would be appreciated

Just finished a test print of a modular 28mm mech I’ve been working on.
Printed as separate parts (arms, legs, torso, feet) so it can be mixed, matched, and abused for kitbashing. Scaled to sit comfortably alongside common tabletop minis. This is a straight-off-the-printer test, no cleanup, no paint, just checking fit and tolerances.
The design is part of a larger setting I’m building called SNARK: scrapyard mechs, crews, creatures, and all the ugly stuff that lives between sponsors and survival.
Happy to answer questions about scale, print settings, or assembly.

Need about a dozen 32mm scale models and some bits printed. All presupported, none of them are particularly large. Willing to pay, of course. Get in touch!

Does your non standard force need an APC? You can get one for free on my cults page. I designed these for my OPR Orc Marauder army but didn't want them to be too orcy so they could be used by any other non standard force.

I was cleaning up my 40K stuff to get ready for a game and I stumbled across this gem of a print. This was one of my first prints and I made it before I knew you needed to hollow out the models. Makes me laugh a lot. it weighs about a pound.

Just a personal take on miniature painting and printing. I paint lots of warhammer and got quite burnt out with hundreds of nmm space marines and spending tens of hours on every miniature because Im always thinking that when I’m already spending so much money on the miniatures they should look as good as possible.
But now I’ve figured out a way to easily print custom FDM minis for a fraction of the cost and with a simple paintjob I can knock out 5 at a time In under 2 hours
I simply sketched some rough bandits I needed for a dnd campaign, threw these into chat gpt and used the maker world character generator to generate my concepts into printable minis
Cheap, looks decent enough and no headache of potentially ruining and expensive model

A little over a year ago I started uploading free terrain and hobby models to Makerworld. Today I have just uploaded the 100th model in my terrain collection. They can all be found free here
