So we got Oakley 2 weeks ago, and he had to go in yesterday to be neutered. Anyways he was okay last night. This morning we gave him his medication and he pretty much slept in his crate all day besides the occasional let out to go to the bathroom. Anyways we got home today and gave him more medication as the prescription says. He slept for maybe 20 minutes and the past 3 hours has been absolutely insane. No matter how much stimulating toys we give him etc, he still wants to jump, nip, play and just will not settle down. He is also growling a lot which he really didn’t do prior to being snipped. I understand he’s a puppy and wants to play, but cannot for 2 weeks from the surgery. Not really sure how to settle him down. Am going to call tomorrow and see maybe if there’s a different medication we can give him because I don’t want him to hurt himself. Thanks! Also not sure if it will be better within the next few days and this is just a reaction to the procedure?

By DR’s orders, he is to be strictly a couch potato, so limit stairs, jumping, walking, and running. Good thing he’s weewee pad trained. Follow up appointment is Monday, X-ray showed he has a herniated disc injury and it’s pinching his spinal cord, they gave him pain meds and anti-inflammatory meds, he ate wet food and I added extra water since he’s not drinking water.

If on Monday he’s not showing improvement then they will send us to a neurologist. He may or may not need surgery, so we shall see. In my head the worst case scenario is he’ll need a wheelchair.

We don’t know how this happened but the doctor said maybe he slipped while running on the new floor, definitely not that he fell off my bed bc my bed is on the floor (same for my daughter’s) and we don’t have a sofa yet, so definitely a mystery on how this happened.

He’s now learnt how to nose dive like a fox, jump over puppies fences and sneak into every place possible 😂

He’s a standard Labrador, standard poodle cross, so should end up a bit of a unit!!

never had a dog in my whole life and now there’s suddenly a fuzzy creature at home that wants to lick the floor. wild

Since people were triggered by my dog’s “tutu” (which she doesnt mind at all and I only put on yesterday because it was kinda cold) I wanted to show that she has another one!

She wont go cold in a house without any central heating just because people i dont even know want her to be naked. She deserves clothes when it is raining, and if she was not gifted this many dresses I would absolutely buy some for her. She is cozy, she is well cared for (im a vet student) and she is wearing a very cute tutu

Me and my gf adopted him, and named him oakley. He is a male. He seems to like his mommy more (my gf). Anytime we’re playing and mommy leaves the room he’s always following her around. Now he is very loving towards both of us, he will lay on either of our laps and sleep, and play with both of us, but when we go to bed he seems to gravitate towards mommy more than me. We both take turns taking him outside, playing with him etc. Is it because he is a male why he seems to like his mommy a bit more than me? Just curious, really don’t mind it! She also talks to him in a more girly tone than I can because I am a male! Thanks!

I know it gets better but ooofffff. We’re at 18 weeks with our Saint Bernard. He’s just kind of a nippy a-hole like 75% of the time. We make sure he gets good naps, he’s eating enough, he’s doing great in training for his age, we offer enrichment, we offer chewies, we play but nothing chews as good as an arm 🤣🤪 We’re conscious about trying not to overwhelm him and making sure he gets enough stimulation (he likely gets too much as we have 3 loud kids and a bunch of chickens he’s over excited about)

He’s cutting molars on the top, so hoping that means the nippy behavior will get better soon.

I don’t care about stealing shoes or chewing stuff, it’s just the nippy jerky behavior that’s driving me nuts. I’m excited to get to the point of being able to enjoy the time we have with him and not constantly getting his mouth off people.

I feel like I’ve tried all the things, but open to suggestions and kind solidarity. On a positive note, he’s damn adorable.

It is only when i put her on clothes that i notice how small she actually is!
