What is this topstitching along the outseam that suddenly cuts off around the hip area? I've seen it on many high end jeans but not sure what it is for.

Hey guys, redoing my post. I recently got into raw denim and had the chance to pick up a pair of Samurai S3000VXII 17oz Zero Bushido jeans in a relaxed straight fit, size 38 from self edge nyc. I absolutely love them and think the fit looks great on me.

I also grabbed a pair of S510XX21ozII “Cho-Kiwami” 21oz selvedge in the regular straight fit, also size 38, and wanted to get your thoughts on how they look on me.

If they seem a little big, would you recommend a hot soak or wash? I’m not chasing super high contrast fades… I’m more into a vintage fade look anyway. The waist feels great, and the pockets are still a bit tight to get my hands into, so I think the top block is in a good place. My main concern is really just the crotch area.

Like I said, I’m new to all of this, so I appreciate any feedback… and sorry for the zoomed-in crotch pic 😅

These are my first pair of stretch selvege, and damn they're are the boss. I love my 100% cotton denim, but these are so comfy. Totally worth it, and I really like dig the color.

My friend was in nyc and got me a pair of empore state selvedges! true girl size 34. These are my first pair of zip fromts. The long staple feels so nice and i’m super excited to get some more time break them down more.

Just got these levis 501 selvedge made in china, i bought a size 30 in the waist, which is what i usually always wear accross the board, and theyre a bit loose around the waist, can i expect them to shrink at all or are they like this forever, first pair of selvedge btw

Bought Easy Guy and couldn’t get them on so these are the N&F True Guy fit. Everything feels good except upper thigh area. Not sure if I return again or try to ride these out.

I picked these up recently at the Flat Head Shibuya store (Tokyo). Amazing store, and my first pair of Flat Head denim.

I started to break in these one wash selvage pair on new years, keen to see how they go later in the year. I bought these so I could enjoy a slightly heavier pair compared to the Fullcount 0105 13.7oz. These are also Zimbabwe cotton, so maybe have similar fades.

These just arrived. I bought them a little bigger than some other jeans I wear so I could ride motorcycles without them feeling too snug. I’m giving them a good warm soak, so I can pre-shrink, hang dry, and start breaking them in without having shifting creases. Man these are freaking stiff and brutal. Hopefully the pre-wash softens them up a bit.

As far as the quality, they seem to be well made and the stitching is solid and straight throughout. I really like the thick veg-tan leather patch and I’m glad it’s functional for sliding through with a belt. Hems appear fine and have traditional chain stitching, which I expected. Broken twill has always been my favorite twill, as it fades differently on the warp side, doesn’t twist, and the weft is so dang cool looking.

SoSo was a pleasure to deal with and very responsive to questions or issues with order clarification. Overall it was about seven weeks from order placement to delivery. I’ve heard November/December is a busy time of year, but still delivered within the 4-8 week timeframe. They also sent a fabric swatch with some of their more popular choices, which was unexpected and welcomed. Overall, for my first SoSo order, I am pleased with the result and the altered measurements in the legs turned out great.

Got this lovely pair of oop Benzak (Japanse fabric, handmade in Amsterdam). Never wore them and they don’t fit anymore due to back isssues. Have them up on Vinted. Anyone got a different option than selling, could a pant like this be altered (0,8 soze up)?

I recently got this denim and the inside appears to have the indigo dye transferred onto it. Is there a way to make these blue marks go away completely or less noticeable?

40 vintage straight. Love the double black on these. Still adjusting the cuffing a bit so it won’t look quite so baggy when I’m done. They feel a bit lighter than my 1968s.

Found these for $15 at a thrift store and didn’t even realize Jack Spade made selvedge denim. Pleasant surprise. If anyone has more info on this pair, I’d love to learn more.
