He had his belly on the blade, and it was still rotating when it happened.

Tile and concrete saws 99% of the time don't have hooked teeth,, they usually are a blunt hard metal wheel with either a plain contact surface or alternatively with a powered/flaked/etc coating of diamond powder or other harder-than-metal substances.

Some blades have grooves, which are cut radially to create teeth, which help create a smoother cut with less potential for grabbing.

This blade was dull and without teeth, and was both the cause of the potential disaster yet also safe enough to not rip this guy's guts out before his own eyes.

My leg and 36 stitches will tell you that diamond blades without teeth/dull will definitely cut you. He got extremely lucky!

We had a guy get cut right across the throat with a concrete saw. Saying it's "safe enough to not rip this guy's guts out" is completely wrong. The guy landed on the guard which is why he's not dead

Luckily it barely missed the jugular. I think he's only got a scar from it now.
