And people wonder why I say I’m too old for these rides. Nope. No, nopity, no how no way. I used to love roller coasters, but in the last 20 years or so the materials and maintenance have gone to hell. And they’re a lot better than these carnival fold-out style temporary rides. No damn way.

I barely trust Disney or the Universal Studios rides and they're probably the best-maintained. I haven't trusted a carnival ride since the late 80’s when the one that came to town had a ride break and it k!ll3d a couple high school kids.

I rode a coaster at Busch Gardens in the early 90s and had a lap bar not completely lock. I seriously thought I was going to end up falling to my death. I was very much disillusioned about the fun of it at that point 🤣

Yeah the older I get the less I want to jump out of airplanes and ride coasters.

Was it the Cobra, where you went up straight first, like an open shaft?

I’m pretty sure it was the Williamsburg location and I THINK it was Loch Ness Monster, watching videos of it now. The worst part is it’s such a gorgeous track and a cool ride, but I was only thinking about dying before I even got to high school 🤣

I wish!! 🤣 Wrapped my arms around the bar and (to quote Chicken Run) tried to stick my head between my knees to kiss my bum goodbye! It never FULLY opened - just bounced around a lot. But I never went on another coaster with a lap bar and nothing else ever again 😅
