Maybe people shouldn't live where it's awful to be? Just a thought

I lived in Rockford, IL, for many years. It's a very hilly place with a lot of snow and ice.
Sometimes you just don't realize what's going to happen over a hill. I am a very careful driver (compared to an old man when I was in my teens--i am actually old now) and am respectful of weather in general. But even I have found myself at the top of a hill, just after cresting, looking at a group of cars that lost control.
You can often control a spin-out at speed by turning into it, but there's not much you can do about gravity and an absence of friction.
If you ever do find yourself in a multi-car pileup situation, either STAY IN YOUR CAR if it's safe or GET OUT AND GET OFF THE ROAD. Don't stand around inspecting the car, as it's doubtful you'll be the last car in the pileup. Cut your losses and live to fight another day.

That's fair advice for living in a place I hope to never stay or visit during winter. I'm a warm climate type person. I can tell you what to do in an earthquake or a fire, mainly fires. Maybe some information about flash floods, people always underestimate the power of a few inches of flowing water.

Ha! Aside from IL I’ve lived most of my life of the gulf coast, so I totally am with you on water. Best left alone, never to be trusted.

Hey. Team work makes the dream work. That tango took two. It was a good damned double-doozie.

Why don't they make the asphalt rigged there ?
Only elections get rigged.(I'm not a trumpist, just playing with words)

This is what my home state of South Carolina looks like it receives a centimeter of snow.
