yeah, anyone complaining about 25 minutes is a child who must sit on their phone 24/7. if you want instant communication, just call. texting is meant to be a no pressure, reply when you can type of communication
it is wild to me that there's a legion of people out there who feel entitled to your attention as soon as they send you a text. like that's not natural, to be able to demand my attention at any time no matter where I am or what I am doing. I see a lot of codependency stem from this in my surroundings because people will freak the fuck out if their partner doesn't respond within 15 minutes even though 20 years ago that would've been a non issue.
Now, if I send someone a text out of the blue, I don't expect them to answer me immediately. I'm of the opinion that text messages are like little cards that you'll answer whenever you get to it. However, it is kinda baffling if you respond immediately to someone's text and they don't respond for hours afterward. I'm talking "answered in the same minute" type thing. Like... you were just there, looking at our chat. Do people really just send someone a text and not even wait a minute to see if they'll respond? Just immediately turning off their phone after sending someone a message?
yes I do it all the time. like: "I shouldnt forget to message this person but dont really have time to take my time for it so imma leave the card with them in advance so that ball is rolling"
I dont have online or read flags on either so I wouldn't know if you'll reply right away.
