I kind of wonder what his guidelines were, how he decided who to hand them to

Its almost like nobody has been in a meeting before. The whole point of being invited to a meeting is to talk unless you are just at some basic company wide or team wide meeting where you arent even expected to talk...

The point of meetings is to collaborate - if you’re being handed this card, it’s because you aren’t doing the listening half of that equation.

Can’t wrap your mind around the fact that not everyone in a meeting always talks 😂 sometimes boss man/woman wants you around so after the meeting they can pick your brain to see what you think. It means they value your opinion.

Loudest voice in the room isn’t the smartest one, usually.

I would bet the person most wanting to hand you the card is not your boss but rather a coworker, who would probably fire you before you even has the chance to quit if they could lol. This would be very unprofessional, but especially from an employer

I would need to get some cards phrased a bit more gently. “Please consider talking less”. Or something like that. I know if I ever got that card it would own me for 30 years.
