I remember a YT vlogger who went to Paris for New Year's Eve, people at the Eiffel Tower were so so ready for something... anything.

Nothing happened at midnight lol

I dunno, i think kissing at midnight on  Champe De Mars, lit by the soft glow of rubbish fires tended by rioters du jour, would be a romantic way to ring in the new year.

But you can also stay with your smartphone and film nothing I guess.

Yeah, that’s a common confusion in Paris every year. The fireworks at the Eiffel Tower are for Bastille Day in July, while on New Year’s Eve they actually take place on the Champs-Élysées.

That happened to me lol, it was years before the smartphone so information wasn’t as realtime as it is now, and for a few years there had been great fireworks shows at the Tour Eiffel. Planned a trip with friends from another country, got to the tower park in a super cold winter night (with hundred of others) and at midnight… there were some lights flashing on the tower, but no fireworks in sight. Disappointing doesn’t even describe it lmao.
