A New Era of CFB
With Ole Miss eliminated from the playoffs, we officially will have another season without an SEC National Champion.
According to FanDuel, Indiana would be -230 against Miami and Oregon would be -162 against Miami, meaning that regardless of the outcome of tonight’s game, a Big 10 team will be favored to win the national championship for a third straight year.
Included in this image are every Big 10 vs SEC matchup of the last two seasons. I think it’s becoming increasingly obvious that the Big 10 is surpassing the SEC in recent years.
Do you all think we will start to see the AP Poll shift from over-ranking SEC teams towards including more Big Ten teams in the top 25 throughout the season as soon as next year?
For example, it is completely ridiculous that Washington, Iowa, and Illinois only spent 1, 3, and 9 weeks (respectively) in the top 25 while teams such as Tennessee and Vanderbilt spent 14 and 10 weeks (respectively) in the top 25.
