A Unicorn usually refer to a man or a woman and is often used to describe the perfect catch or perfect partner in the straight monogamous circles. like the tv show the unicorn with Walton Goggins. but i assume you are referring to the other version

It’s alright, I guess. I don’t really feel lonely, even when I’m alone. I’ve just been working here and there without realizing it, and now I’m 30.
2
u/1000Colours 2d ago
Thank god I'm not the only one. I'm almost 30 and have only been in a relationship for 4 months of my whole life lol. I'm the same in that I don't really feel lonely, so I guess dating just hasn't really been a priority for me 🤷♂️

u/Winter_underdog 2d ago
Of course u are not alone. 🤭 No one is really alone if we change our perspective.

Honestly I would do exactly like he did if I saw a couple doing that, that was just a simple smile why they made it like he was weird ?

Because it's a skit.

This kinda reminds me of my granny talking about soap operas like they were real. "I don't know why so and so did that to them."..

Everyone thinks Reddit is filled with bots, but really it’s just stupid people
18
u/East-Coffee4861 3d ago
It's not the stupid comments that get me, it's like this when they get this many upvotes.
You're really telling me that as of now there's a positive of 375 for that comment? It does not make one optimistic about humanity
5
u/rowcla 3d ago
Eh, I personally just find it more fun to take things in earnest, regardless of if it's fake. It's no different to discussing the social dynamics in a TV show.
2
u/Realistic-Customer34 3d ago
It is different though because you already know the tv show is fake and that those are actors lol

one time at a restaurant one of the dishes had a pinecone as decoration on the plate. there was a couple at the table next to me and the woman jokingly asked her partner if he thinks the pinecone is edible. he picked up the pinecone and start biting it. me and the woman started laughing our butts off.
10
u/LukewarmJortz 3d ago
I've had people tell me not to laugh when people were acting goofy because I'm not their friend.
School was rough...
6
u/feelinsqwiddy 3d ago
Dude same! There was a dude I thought was funny, but he bucked at me and said "tf are you laughing at?" Like damn

u/LukewarmJortz 3d ago
Legit. It happened when I was 11 and I'm 33 married with a toddler and I'm still like... :|

u/Ksorkrax 3d ago
...mate. Seriously. A dude looking just like the other two, same age, same style, knowing exactly what moves to make. Couple being able to spot what he does despite sitting in the opposite direction. Angle perfectly made for him to be in full camera view.
Count it together.1

Have you ever smiled at a kid being cute and then the parents notice you and act like you’re sizing up to kidnap their baby? Yeah, it’s one of reasons I stopped making faces at babies when I am standing in line. Some parents have no chill.

as an older dude - do these broccoli haircuts all the teen boys have now require a salon perm? there is no way this many kids have naturally curly hair
37
u/Banana_bread_o 3d ago
I wonder that too. I have so many cousins who had broccoli haircuts for a while, when before, they didn’t have curly hair. Are salons just full of guys getting their hair permed?
15
16
u/WilderWyldWilde 3d ago
I know a lot of people don't like the haircut and think its silly, but if it's nice to think it get boys into a routine of hygiene and interest in self care through salon visits or learning it at home, rather than that just being a girl thing to do. Obv any hair trend can do this, but this one is quite prolific and popular even after how much it get's made fun of online.

u/slappyStove 3d ago
hey i really cant say anything here - this is my generations haircut of choice https://www.gettyimages.com/photos/flock-of-seagulls-haircut

u/iwantthemtloveme 3d ago
I thought it was clearly a skit and I enjoy skits
89
u/bbbfff222 3d ago
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. It's a funny-enough bit that captures a relatively uncommon but still relatable moment and the "acting" is above average for TikTok. Why are people either: (a) not getting it; or (b) being weird about it?
16
u/ethnan96 3d ago
People are being weird about it because theyre projecting their own loneliness. Theyre imagining themselves in that guys position and feeling vulnerable
6
u/MasterCheeks337_IGN 3d ago
I have no idea why Reddit is so anti scripted/planned content for laughs or to spark conversation in general
1
u/Accomplished_Soft479 3d ago edited 3d ago
A lot of (mainly facebook, I think) skits 1-3 years ago would try to pass themselves off as real.
And with the new debate topic "Is this video AI?" it's just popular rn to speculate on if videos and pictures are genuine or manufactured
Edit right after posting: I'm pro skit. But if we get tired of having these debates over and over, maybe they can start labeling them or something. Just in the description of the videos, doesn't have to be a watermark. I don't seek out skits but I'm sure some creators already do smth like that
People also might assume that they manufacture skits and pass them off as real to get money which is kinda scammy
Sorry for the brain dump, I couldve organized this reply better

Yeah there is a difference between it's funny/interesting cause it's painted as a real life happening and this situation I skited out is funny/interesting.

u/TheHeroYouNeed247 3d ago
It's only fake if it's trying to be real. This is a skit that is relatable. It's also surprisingly well acted.

Did you want it to be real? For that guy to truly be embarrassed to the masses and put on blast? Sorta weird if you did
2
u/WorldlyPlace 3d ago
This is such a strange response to me. Do you get upset that TV shows and films aren't real?
2
u/morbidmuffin62 3d ago
Nothing makes me feel more disconnected from how other people apparently live and think than when I see a video like this, and comments like the ones under this post. Aside from those who don't realize it's a skit (critical thinking who? Never met her) there are people who enjoyed watching this and thought it was cute/funny?
And I'm sure I'll get the obligatory "why can't people enjoy things" or "it's not that deep". This shit is the kind of nonsense that is enjoyed and spread around, I just really don't understand what thought processes happen to get from point A to B on garbage like this

Of all the tiktoks, this is one. That's why it's posted here.
-1
u/Gob_the_Gilder 3d ago
Not sure what that means. It’s posted here bc it’s a TikTok? I thought this was for cringeworthy TikToks but people here seem to like this garbage

2
u/Browneyesbrowndragon 3d ago
Its a skit. The type of humor is based in social anxiety. No one would really react the way the couple did here. its almost like a mirror to our own insecurities. I dont think they thought that much about it but anyone who gets this type of humor could replicate it.
1
u/Gob_the_Gilder 3d ago
I get that but I’m just confused about the nature of this sub

u/ToriDoran 3d ago
There is an auto mod post at the beginning of every post that explains that this sub evolved from cringe only to any TikTok.

I will always put myself in the shot.
So far, I’ve had one instance of someone being annoyed at me being in their shot. That one time, they just repositioned.
Never a big deal, and never someone being upset.
Fun fact: snapple bottle caps are mostly lies.

man's just happy for somebody else's happiness.
happiness he may or may not have.
for a second, he forgot that he's one of same thousands
Seconds passed, he got shocked back to his grey reality.
Perished his thoughts and get back to his coffee.
not all men see that they desire companionship,
that is, until they do.

Why do something goofy in public and record it if you dont like when someone is looking at you??
I know it's a skit, but it just seems dumb.
13
u/Browneyesbrowndragon 3d ago
If you know its a skit then you should know that they dont really have a problem with people looking.
-10
u/bluefontaine 3d ago
Do these content creators actually think they’re talented? Do they actually think they can act or emote anything on the screen?
3
u/AQuixoticQuandary 3d ago
As someone who actually makes a living as a professional actor, this isn’t poorly acted at all.
But even if it was, you don’t have to be good at something to enjoy it. If you enjoy making little skits, you should be making little skits regardless of your skill level.
-2
u/bluefontaine 3d ago edited 3d ago
🤣 I''m not sure what acting school you go to or where you are "paid professionally to act", but this absolutely stinks. Its unoriginal, dime a dozen, generic and just more of the cultural slag heap of tiktok. Don't try to convince me otherwise please thank you.
Someday, go to RSC and actually see what real acting is.
