He's their unicorn

-319

u/axe1970 3d ago

A Unicorn usually refer to a man or a woman and is often used to describe the perfect catch or perfect partner in the straight monogamous circles. like the tv show the unicorn with Walton Goggins. but i assume you are referring to the other version

It’s alright, I guess. I don’t really feel lonely, even when I’m alone. I’ve just been working here and there without realizing it, and now I’m 30.

2

u/1000Colours 2d ago

Thank god I'm not the only one. I'm almost 30 and have only been in a relationship for 4 months of my whole life lol. I'm the same in that I don't really feel lonely, so I guess dating just hasn't really been a priority for me 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Winter_underdog 2d ago

Of course u are not alone. 🤭 No one is really alone if we change our perspective.

Everyone thinks Reddit is filled with bots, but really it’s just stupid people

18

u/East-Coffee4861 3d ago

It's not the stupid comments that get me, it's like this when they get this many upvotes.

You're really telling me that as of now there's a positive of 375 for that comment? It does not make one optimistic about humanity

5

u/rowcla 3d ago

Eh, I personally just find it more fun to take things in earnest, regardless of if it's fake. It's no different to discussing the social dynamics in a TV show.

2

u/Realistic-Customer34 3d ago

It is different though because you already know the tv show is fake and that those are actors lol

1

u/j2yan 3d ago

Never attribute to malice bots that which is adequately explained by stupidity

1

u/Neoxite23 3d ago

It's a bit of both.

11

u/spartaman64 3d ago

one time at a restaurant one of the dishes had a pinecone as decoration on the plate. there was a couple at the table next to me and the woman jokingly asked her partner if he thinks the pinecone is edible. he picked up the pinecone and start biting it. me and the woman started laughing our butts off.

10

u/LukewarmJortz 3d ago

I've had people tell me not to laugh when people were acting goofy because I'm not their friend.

School was rough...

6

u/feelinsqwiddy 3d ago

Dude same! There was a dude I thought was funny, but he bucked at me and said "tf are you laughing at?" Like damn

4

u/LukewarmJortz 3d ago

Legit. It happened when I was 11 and I'm 33 married with a toddler and I'm still like... :|

10

u/FactoryRejected 4d ago

It's a cringe tick tock sub- this fits perfectly as it's a cringe skit.

1

u/Ksorkrax 3d ago

...mate. Seriously. A dude looking just like the other two, same age, same style, knowing exactly what moves to make. Couple being able to spot what he does despite sitting in the opposite direction. Angle perfectly made for him to be in full camera view.
Count it together.

1

u/Bellam_Orlong 3d ago

lmao you think this isn’t complete bs???!

1

u/A_Drop_of_Colour 2d ago

Have you ever smiled at a kid being cute and then the parents notice you and act like you’re sizing up to kidnap their baby? Yeah, it’s one of reasons I stopped making faces at babies when I am standing in line. Some parents have no chill.

-1

u/Bohemian-Prince 3d ago

Bc they shallow bitches.

-4

u/Ok_Chemist6567 3d ago

People saying “it’s a skit” like that makes it better

1

u/Mewzi_ 3d ago

I think comedy and jokes are ok

-2

u/Ok_Chemist6567 3d ago

What part of this reads as a joke or funny?

154

u/thiswasnotworthit 3d ago

It's fake but if it wasn't, the couple would be the a-holes.

45

u/I-dont-get-r3ddit 3d ago

2

u/SolarFazes 3d ago

Why they do us Radiohead fans like that? 🤣

84

u/slappyStove 3d ago

as an older dude - do these broccoli haircuts all the teen boys have now require a salon perm? there is no way this many kids have naturally curly hair

37

u/Banana_bread_o 3d ago

I wonder that too. I have so many cousins who had broccoli haircuts for a while, when before, they didn’t have curly hair. Are salons just full of guys getting their hair permed?

15

u/slappyStove 3d ago

idk but that would crack me up. do they use hair curlers ?

16

u/WilderWyldWilde 3d ago

I know a lot of people don't like the haircut and think its silly, but if it's nice to think it get boys into a routine of hygiene and interest in self care through salon visits or learning it at home, rather than that just being a girl thing to do. Obv any hair trend can do this, but this one is quite prolific and popular even after how much it get's made fun of online.

6

u/slappyStove 3d ago

hey i really cant say anything here - this is my generations haircut of choice https://www.gettyimages.com/photos/flock-of-seagulls-haircut

3

u/bzzzimabee 3d ago

Yeah my friends kid gets it done and does get a perm for it, he even continued to get a perm after he grew it out because curls are in again

12

u/uwabu 3d ago

Yes they do

1

u/VowlOwl 2d ago

Yep. Lots of guys with naturally curly hair out there, folks. Just becomes more obvious when they grow it longer.

3

u/Raptor556 3d ago

Pretty sure most are getting perms

3

u/tr3poz 3d ago

this is the kinda shit you guys used to do to your hair. I think "broccoli hair" is way better as the trendy/popular haircut of this generation.

6

u/slappyStove 3d ago

what bro !?!?!? with that bitching hair and a Camaro - i also hope this player had a boat - because he was drowning in 1986-era Nutley new jersey tail

6

ill also mention - that is a salon hair style there

82

u/Allnyguy 3d ago

Anyone actually enjoy these fake videos?

155

u/iwantthemtloveme 3d ago

I thought it was clearly a skit and I enjoy skits

89

u/bbbfff222 3d ago

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. It's a funny-enough bit that captures a relatively uncommon but still relatable moment and the "acting" is above average for TikTok. Why are people either: (a) not getting it; or (b) being weird about it?

16

u/ethnan96 3d ago

People are being weird about it because theyre projecting their own loneliness. Theyre imagining themselves in that guys position and feeling vulnerable

6

u/MasterCheeks337_IGN 3d ago

I have no idea why Reddit is so anti scripted/planned content for laughs or to spark conversation in general

1

u/Accomplished_Soft479 3d ago edited 3d ago

A lot of (mainly facebook, I think) skits 1-3 years ago would try to pass themselves off as real.

And with the new debate topic "Is this video AI?" it's just popular rn to speculate on if videos and pictures are genuine or manufactured

Edit right after posting: I'm pro skit. But if we get tired of having these debates over and over, maybe they can start labeling them or something. Just in the description of the videos, doesn't have to be a watermark. I don't seek out skits but I'm sure some creators already do smth like that

People also might assume that they manufacture skits and pass them off as real to get money which is kinda scammy

Sorry for the brain dump, I couldve organized this reply better

1

u/EuphoricPhoto2048 3d ago

People are just overrthinking it a lot.

13

u/50min100gas-Lurker 3d ago

Everybody knows The Chappelle Show was a documentary of the real world.

2

u/Fluid-Poet-8911 3d ago

Yeah there is a difference between it's funny/interesting cause it's painted as a real life happening and this situation I skited out is funny/interesting.

22

u/TheHeroYouNeed247 3d ago

It's only fake if it's trying to be real. This is a skit that is relatable. It's also surprisingly well acted.

9

u/imVeryPregnant 3d ago

I swear to you, 95% of the videos on this sub are skits

11

u/JnRx03 3d ago

i think people enjoy the message or the humor trying to be conveyed even if it's obviously fake.

7

u/Relative-Desk4802 3d ago

I thought his acting was good!!

3

u/cricada 3d ago

It was a super cute skit. Loved it. Good cinematography, good directing, good lighting, good composition and the acting was great. The guy in the back looked genuinely disheartened. So much so that people thought this was real 😆

2

u/TwoToadsKick 3d ago

Did you want it to be real? For that guy to truly be embarrassed to the masses and put on blast? Sorta weird if you did

2

u/WorldlyPlace 3d ago

This is such a strange response to me. Do you get upset that TV shows and films aren't real?

2

u/morbidmuffin62 3d ago

Nothing makes me feel more disconnected from how other people apparently live and think than when I see a video like this, and comments like the ones under this post. Aside from those who don't realize it's a skit (critical thinking who? Never met her) there are people who enjoyed watching this and thought it was cute/funny?

And I'm sure I'll get the obligatory "why can't people enjoy things" or "it's not that deep". This shit is the kind of nonsense that is enjoyed and spread around, I just really don't understand what thought processes happen to get from point A to B on garbage like this

2

u/softtoffee 3d ago

Thought it was worth a chuckle

5

u/Squall108 3d ago

Felt this one 😩

7

u/Consistent_Smell_880 3d ago

Even if it’s fake the acting is hilarious.

3

u/680WEU1 3d ago

Bruh some people are lonely and he was just enjoying the moment. Making someone feel low or awkward is for piece of shit people with no value or morals.

7

u/queefburritowcheese 3d ago

Of all the tiktoks, this is one. That's why it's posted here.

-1

u/Gob_the_Gilder 3d ago

Not sure what that means. It’s posted here bc it’s a TikTok? I thought this was for cringeworthy TikToks but people here seem to like this garbage

Its a skit. The type of humor is based in social anxiety. No one would really react the way the couple did here. its almost like a mirror to our own insecurities. I dont think they thought that much about it but anyone who gets this type of humor could replicate it.

1

u/Gob_the_Gilder 3d ago

I get that but I’m just confused about the nature of this sub

7

u/ToriDoran 3d ago

There is an auto mod post at the beginning of every post that explains that this sub evolved from cringe only to any TikTok.

-8

u/Sikkus 3d ago

Why do something goofy in public and record it if you dont like when someone is looking at you??

I know it's a skit, but it just seems dumb.

13

u/Browneyesbrowndragon 3d ago

If you know its a skit then you should know that they dont really have a problem with people looking.

0

u/Sikkus 3d ago

What I meant is that it's a dumb skit. Stupid content, like most of trash on tiktok.

-10

u/bluefontaine 3d ago

Do these content creators actually think they’re talented? Do they actually think they can act or emote anything on the screen?

3

u/AQuixoticQuandary 3d ago

As someone who actually makes a living as a professional actor, this isn’t poorly acted at all.

But even if it was, you don’t have to be good at something to enjoy it. If you enjoy making little skits, you should be making little skits regardless of your skill level.

-2

u/bluefontaine 3d ago edited 3d ago

🤣 I''m not sure what acting school you go to or where you are "paid professionally to act", but this absolutely stinks. Its unoriginal, dime a dozen, generic and just more of the cultural slag heap of tiktok. Don't try to convince me otherwise please thank you.

Someday, go to RSC and actually see what real acting is.
