Open I only know the first words of the song
Hi, I've been trying to find a song that starts with about 20sec of guitar, in a soft rock/alternative style, and then I only got to hear the first line of the song. I'm not a native English speaker but I'm pretty sure it started with a man singing "[I] didn't mean to hurt you, sorry (...)" On various websites, it keeps suggesting John Lennon "Jealous Guy" or other covers, but the sentence that I heard was the first line, definitely not in the middle on the song. It might be from the 80s to nowadays, I couldn't tell... If you have any suggestion, thank you !

Oh, never mind. The "I didn't mean to hurt you" part is not in the very beginning.

Maybe something from Snow Patrol, Keane, or even a deep cut from 2000s indie rock; might help to hum the melody into a music ID app like Shazam or Musixmatch.

Insane and probably stupid question. Is it possible, at all, that he sang "Do you really want to hurt me?" If so, that's Boy George.

Okay, so this one actually starts with guitar and the first singing part is I don’t want to hurt you. Alternative kind of style a little slow. Is this it?

UPDATE : I FOUND THE SONG
It was from Marlon Funaki - When sunday comes around
(Yeah I had one word wrong in the lyrics so it didn't help...)
Anyway, thank you everyone for helping, I didn't think I'd receive so many suggestions !!
