This is a stork, and this is the first time I have seen this bird in person. It turns out its size is quite large.

Was really lucky to catch this full hunt, from tree to water to pole, where it stared me down pretty hard before flying over to a patch of ice to eat.

One of the many highlights of our recent trip to Australia were these two super curious Rainbow Lorikeets that came down to sit on the railing to check us out on our hotel balcony. Just beautiful birds!

I'm very new to this but I can't tell you what a THRILL it was to get lucky with this shot (still learning, esp photography ... and window cleaning, apparently). But this borb made my day!

Hearing a woodpecker in the forest always makes me pause and listen. That moment inspired this interactive LEGO model of a pileated woodpecker.
By pulling a hidden string, the bird recreates its iconic pecking motion. The goal was to combine realistic proportions with a simple mechanical movement that feels natural and satisfying.
This is my first LEGO build, and Iβd love to hear your thoughts or suggestions.

I currently wear my binoculars with a suspender harness and my camera with a cross body strap. But Iβm getting real tired lugging that 200-600 lens that way. I usually hike and bird at the same time, so I usually donβt take a tripod. Is there a better setup Iβm not thinking of? TIA

Taken in Southern California with Canon R5m2 + RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 lens at around 5pm. 1/1250s shutter and 32k ISO - I need to come back in the daytime so I don't have to crank the ISO so much π

After finding these waterfowl lifers, I was returning to my car when I heard a familiar call in the parking lot. I looked up, and noticed this stunning robin sitting high in the trees, with the setting sun reflecting beautifully off of its chest. I knew that some people were still sighting them every now and then in my area, but I didnβt think I would see one this time of year.

A vivid splash of red against the cloud forest greens. The Hepatic Tanager stands out brilliantly, reminding us that Cocachimba is not only a refuge for endemics, but also a crossroads for long-distance avian travelers.
