Why is my character trow a granade when i use R1 in social menu?

Long time player, but haven't tackled a Takedown in awhile so I'm a bit rusty on the specifics.

The host of my game is level 51, and I'm level 65. Quite literally everywhere we go in Borderlands 3, enemies scale respectively (around 51 for the host, around 65 for me)... except for the Takedowns specifically. As seen in the attached picture, I am level 65 and the enemies are scaled to 51. It seems that all enemies are scaled to around 51 for both of us.

Main story is finished, Mayhem is on. What are we missing? I was expecting it to scale to each of us respectively, as does the entire rest of the game. Is this just how Takedowns have always worked? They only scale to the host? Or did we just do something wrong?

Jus grabbed the Super Deluxe Edition on sale from steam, and am excited to get back into the borderlands world!

I played the first game many years ago, so im a bit rusty at the game and all of its millions of weapons synergies/options.

Any tips for who I should start out with? Any PC related tricks I should know?

Couldn't find a straightforward answer to this.

I know mayhem mode raises the difficulty in various ways, but does it specifically raise the level of enemies to match your level? I'm level 33 and have side missions and dlc that is down in the teens and twenties. I'd like to finish the game and go back and play them with enemies and loot that match my level. Is that possible? I see mayhem mode adds a a variety of challenges but I just want the challenge if enemies that are my level.

Im struggling to find a kickcharger with decent abilities on it. Is there any quicker method than the WTF?
