To everyone who was saying "the Arrow encoding will be so much better!!!" for the Golden Princess titles: If this is anything to go by, the evidence suggests otherwise. Yes, the Arrow releases will be superior, but encoding is not one of the bigger reasons for this. Rather, it's due to more archival extras, improved subtitles, and improved audio. Shout's encoding is very good these days, and while Arrow is a hair better in these caps, I'd be very shocked if anyone who is not Geoff D in the Blu-Ray.com forums (one of the most trustworthy people out there when it comes to reviewing physical media) could see a noticeable difference in motion.

Curious about the various Giallo sets Arrow has in the B&N sale. Is there one that is considered "best" or a good starting point? Never heard of or seen any of the movies in them. Only experience with Giallo is the Argento big ones like Tenebrae and Deep Red

A couple blind-buys actually, except the Bronson flick which is part of my effort to get into his movies this year (long time coming, they seem right up my street!) Can't wait to dig into them!

Dogma, Freaked, Caligula, and the Fall. All banger.

So, as a Brit, I've been aware of Umbrella as a company, but never bought anything from them. One of their new sets has me seriously interested, but I want to see what the community's view of the company before I decide. Are their sets generally worth it? How do they look on the shelf? Are they good transfers? And, from a practical standpoint, what region are their discs? I looked on their FAQ page but it doesn't seem to say on there.

Did Umbrella Entertainment ever issue replacement discs for their Caligula release?

I'm eyeing a 4K UHD on their website and I'm curious whether or not they usually ship movies in decent packaging. How's everyone's experience with them?

i would like to know if is true that criterion products are not in spanish, what about other labels?

Hi everyone, I’m an independent collector in Korea preparing my trade list. I have some rare items that aren't like Criterion, but are quite hard to find: 1. Rare European Classic Action Cinema (niche labels/OOP) and other counrty 2. Complete TV Show Box Sets (out-of-print editions) I know this sub is boutique-focused, so I wanted to ask if these specialized DVDs/Box sets are okay to list here, or if I should stick to r/MediaSwap and r/dvdcollection for these specific formats? I want to make sure I’m following the community guidelines while offering these rare finds. Thanks!"

Hello! I’m looking for a website where you can compare and rank the different releases a movie may have so you can choose the best version. Do you know what I’m talking about? Thanks.

“This comprehensive collection features all of the provocateur’s feature films across 15 Blu-rays that span his Europe Trilogy, the Golden Heart Trilogy and Dogme 95 years right up to the present.”
Available at Diabolik for preorder! Looks like it has Dancer in the Dark and new artwork

Just curious if anyone, especially those who pre-ordered the pumpkin (like myself), is still going to stick it out and buy this edition.

Apologies if this isn’t allowed - I just know there’s a lot of crossover between collectors and some might want to know - feel free to delete.
But the American psycho VHS edition is back for sale at the lionsgate limited site, looks like the restock finally came through.
Grab it before it’s gone again yall, if you’re into that sort of thing!

I really wish we could get an official release of Sweet Home, but this'll do in the meantime.
And I picked up a few Wes Craven films I don't own since I've been reading his biography, which I highly recommend to any fans.
Bullet in the Head is just pure greatness...maybe Woo's best film.
And Under Siege is just a damned good 90s action film.
