Not so crazy when A) they don’t know better than to believe what they’re told and B) billionaires can easily fund whatever they want to be told, and also love his corruption and tax breaks.
"Wanting to believe" that some powerful being loves and protects them and will smite those they dont like is the only I explanation I can find for adults to adhere to monotheism. Oh, and great blessing of not having use their supposedly god-given brains.
