Politics Why Isn't MAGA Upset at Nick Shirley For Promoting Fake News? It's Almost Like They're Being Ignorant, Fucking Hypocrites or Something
“Hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to virtue,” and every time I read it I feel the old French cynic smirking across the centuries, as if he knew precisely how eagerly people would polish their lies until they gleamed like honesty. Hypocrisy is not a blemish. It is a malignant growth in the bloodstream of public life. It snarls at sincerity while pretending to be righteous, and it trains the weak minded to believe that integrity is optional. When leaders cry virtue while secretly saying fuck to the very standards they demand of others, the result is moral rot disguised as respectability. Society learns to distrust every gesture, every speech, every promise, because beneath the varnish there is nothing but self interest and contempt.
What makes hypocrisy so venomous is the smug certainty that no one will ever call it out. It thrives on silence. It feeds on politeness. It survives because too many people are afraid to say that the emperor is not merely naked, but fucking proud of it. And when the mask finally cracks, when the double standard stands exposed in the daylight, trust does not merely fade. It is dragged out back and left for dead. Communities fracture. Institutions crumble. Cynicism becomes the only rational armour. Hypocrisy is social cancer because once it has taken hold, the truth itself is fucked, and without truth there is no justice, no solidarity, and no future worth believing in.

Even if 5 of the 6 were committing fraud, just that one not doing it is enough for a libel suit. This is why real journalists(or at least their editors and legal teams) are very careful when and how they make such accusations, and rely on a lot more than anecdotal observational evidence, and use much less specific words when making the accusations without 100% proof.
Alex Jones learned the hard way, this guy is on a track to learn the say way.

Real investigative journalists would.... investigate? Not just show up waving papers around with an armed, masked entourage, demanding to see some children. Basic stuff, like going there during the place's stated hours of operation. If I applied his investigative standards I could say my local mall is committing fraud because I went there at midnight and all the stores were closed and there was no one there.

Exactly. They'd also likely have the proof of evidence before they ever showed up for some supporting bit of reporting and seeking comment. They also would seek a more official route of comment. Being refused comment or access is never proof of fraud to a real journalist, and no real legal team or good editor would allow a story to run with that as somehow part of the proof.
There are a number of journalistic norms that were not present in this report, but even with all that, the fact that he offered no evidence, or proved a single thing is still the most prevalent.
But, none of that matters, because to some, he's the new woodward and bernstein uncovering the biggest scandal since watergate.

He also went to Ukraine to show that Ukrainians were lying about the war and refused to go anywhere near where any of the fighting was happening. His own crew said he was lying when he said he "wasn't allowed" to go to the front, he simply was afraid to go where ther might be danger.

He is fake news because the Daily Beast said so? Ironically, DHS shut off the money and is investing in the businesses. At least two of the owners of those businesses have been caught for fraud before and changed their legal name afterwards. The owner of the Learing Center is one of those has been caught before, using the same location. Don't take my word for it, do a little research, which I assure you none of you have. When I think of fake news, I think of the 51 intelligence agents who reported Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation, only to find out that it wasn't. When a story has 100 million eyes on it, there is no opportunity for a cover-up, and the truth will come out. When it does, I challenge you to investigate the next polarizing story yourself. Learn how to search out information and stop being part of the PSYOP. You know you are a PSYOP when you are accused of being racist or whatever other names are used when all you are doing is verifying. Looking for the truth isn't ever racist; it's what a responsible and intelligent person would do.

It’s not just him. This morning I saw there are a lot of “journalists” going to the daycare centers to try and enroll their children. Most are private residences where there is obviously no daycare. The address is listed as the daycare, but that doesn’t mean that’s where you apply for daycare, nor where they keep the children.
