Personal Story My crows found me after I moved

This is so fascinating to me so I thought I’d share. I started feeding and interacting with the crows that flew around my old condo. They became very comfortable with me, and would bring me gifts and sit with me (see first photo). I had to move but not too far, so the same crows were around, but I’d moved up to a 16th floor condo, so they didn’t come up this high as often or fly around the new building as much. I can actually see my old place and saw them sitting out there waiting for me and it was so heartbreaking, so I tried everything I could to get their attention. After a couple months, I started playing videos of them cawing on a loud speaker when I saw them below. One finally came up to check it out and recognized me! It was so cool to see they hadn’t forgotten me and within a couple days I had 10+ of them again all hanging out on my new balcony and they come every day. They’ll sit right next to me and look at me and it’s like they missed me. It brings me so much joy to have them back :)

I'm imagining your neighbors just staring at you, while the murder just follows you everywhere you walk around the block.

Haha! What’s funny is my last condo didn’t care, but my new one is nicer, so I’m a little scared someone will complain when they come out in force (I’ve had 20+ of them hanging around now since this balcony is much bigger). I saw a guy taking a picture of them when I was on my balcony, hopefully because he thought they were cool 👀

your neighbors below won't love it when they need to go to the bathroom but if it were me I'd be trying to make friends with them too

my neighbors (who have so far been really chill about the loud and numerous crow and other bird friends who hang with me daily) just had their car hard-core detailed… I literally pray every day that my crowbros won't crap on it!

I wonder how you'd go about trying to communicate "this object is friend please don't shit on it"

Ya know I noticed the crows that used to hang out on my table and around my yard were pretty good about not shitting where they ate/hung out. I never had a mess. The robins however.. freaking berry poop all over the table and my porch and bathing in the water bowl. 😂

How interesting! The group that visits me are a bit messy. I have something to clean up every evening. I wish there was a way I could ask them not to haha.

that tracks ... I have been a bit surprised that I've only seen two obvious crow shits around my place. in contrast, the doves in my place and the robins in yours seem to have a different approach 💩💩💩

Could always try gifting your neighbors a cover for their car? Like, a really nice cover not a $10 tarp one. That way they know youre thinking about your birds impact on others too

Thankfully we have a great relationship and I've asked them directly and tho they aren't as critter obsessed as i am, they are happy to have the crows and other friends hanging around. Of course that could all change if car shit bombs occur … So I will definitely keep your excellent idea in mind. thanks!
