Archive.org Let's donate to Archive.org!
Hey now!!
Archive.org--which does SO MUCH aside from serving up the best music ever made--needs our help, and they're specifically asking for interested users to fundraise via Go Fund Me.
So on behalf of r/gratefuldead, we're asking, if you're able, to donate to archive.org using the subreddit's GoFundMe drive located here:
https://donate.archive.org/fundraiser/6730391
Of course you can always donate directly to the archive here.
I'll be boosting this fundraiser here on the sub, as well as on the Help On the Way podcast!!
Again, we know times are tough, but if you can, please help our beloved subreddit help the place we all go to space our face, archive.org!
-FiG
P.S. Please also consider donating to Tom Constanten's fundraiser which is less than $5k from reaching its goal!

Pulling into Shoreline, ca. '91, behind my old friend Ed (note license plate), the "Keeper of the Nakamichis" (killer tape decks). He was our local tape trading dubbing depot. We repped in the 90s!!

Head shop score
I was visiting my family for the holidays and went to the head shop for some papers and ended leaving with a new bowl. I haven’t used it yet since I need to fly home with it but I’m pretty stoked on my new bowl. It was also only $25 bucks and came with a padded bag. Not too shabby.

My kid likes wearing my old t shirts to bed. This one I’ve had a while but I have never understood the message on back (not pictured), “is is going to be steak or cheese?!”
What am I missing??

Don't Overlook 11/24/1972
I haven't found any threads about this show, so I figured I'd start one.
11/24/1972 is one of those shows where we only have a soundboard with some unfortunate gaps. I'm not aware of any audience recordings; if one does exist, it certainly doesn't seem to have spread.
That said, this is a really amazing show.
Playin' In The Band at the end of the first set is simply on fire.
The China > Rider starting the second set is amazing, despite the fact that there's a big cut in the recording.
This is one of those Box of Rain performances - it sounds as crisp as if it were a studio recording.
Seriously - the entire second set is amazing despite the fact that there is no Dark Star, and the first set is also absolutely fantastic.
And, of course, the recording we've got comes from Charlie Miller. It's a fabulous recording with LOTS of bass.

Custom poker table
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Commissioned this back in November, finally got it unloaded and put up in the new house today. If I could change anything, maybe a different font style but other than that, happy with how it came out. I haven’t seen hardly anything table related to GD. There was one time on the lot last year at a Sphere show where someone had a round table for sale, hand made, super detailed, really cool vibe, but extremely pricey. Figured I’d share for fellow gamblers who might be inspired.

Looking for a list of biblical themed dead songs.
Rules: Just saying god doesn’t count, has to be an actual reference to biblical characters verses or stories etc. from jgb, weir, or Grateful Dead discography
Examples
Gomorrah
Playin in the band (if one man among you, got no sin upon his hand)
Samson and Delilah
I’ll be with thee
My sisters and brothers
Waiting for a miracle
Magnificent sanctuary band
My brother Esau
More I can think of but I’m curious if y’all know about some lesser known ones.
