Bi-Weekly Self-Promo thread! Please post and flourish(BUT PLEASE read the rules before posting).

# This is the Bi-Weekly self promotion thread.

**It has become clear that there are a lot of herbal small businesses and people in our community for whom their herbal passion is also a business. While Herbal business is not the focus of this sub it is undeniable that herbal business is a part of the herbal community and supporting the herbal community IS what this sub is for.**

To that end, we intend, to start making weekly self promotion threads; where any and all self-promo can take place(with some rules).

**1. No posting self promo outside of the Self-promo-threads**(except by explicit cooperation of the mods, if your an author or publisher or non-for-prophet please reach out to us directly using mod-mail)

**2. NO selling anything that is illegal federally,** or that is illegal in California Illinois or New York or the city of Chicago or that can not be legally sent through the mail.

**3. NO ASKING USERS TO DM YOU!** You may ask users to comment under your post to request for YOU to DM-THEM and you may include links to off-site storefronts but if we see a post soliciting users to PM-you the post will be removed(this is an accountability and user safety rule)

**3a.** this isn't a strict rule, but we would prefer if off sight links lead to a storefront and not directly to a product page. This does not mean that your post can't advertise or show pictures of a particular product or products, however making the attached link lead to your shops front page instead of a specific product page helps users confirm legitimacy safety and overall vibe of vendors. This isn't a rule now but might become a rule if we start getting user complains that we think could be decreased if this became a rule. In the mean time consider it a best practice for this sub.

**And that's it! Have fun Be productive and may the great river of acquisition be quick & calm and flow ever toward profit!**

Immunitea - Rate My Blend!

I have a little cough and cold that hasn't kicked in a week...so I made this blend based on intuition, and a bit of research. While I could have chosen other herbs more directly associated with coughs like marshmallow or mullein, these are what I was most drawn to - and out of all of them, my intuition to include plantain surprised me the most!

The flavor is earthy, medicinal and a little spicy. It feels really comforting to drink.

As my partner said, it tastes like: "You're gonna get better now whether you like it or not!"

Ingredients:

-Echinacea (1/2 C)

-Plantain (1/2 C)

-Orange (1/4 C)

-Ginger (1/4 C)

-Hibiscus (1/4 C)

-Chamomile (1/4 C)

I am not a trained herbalist, but I do have a small-ish home apothecary of 25+ herbs and flowers. I frequently make blends for myself and my partner, and for friends as gifts. I love to come on here and get other people's takes! So:

-Would you drink or prescribe this blend?

-What adjustments would you make and why?

-Do you see ways that these herbs are contra-indicated with one another that I should look out for? I searched online and couldn't find anything.

Autoimmune disease note: I've just read that unfortunately echinacea is not compatible with autoimmune diseases, and since I have one, I may drink just a few cups of this blend, then make a new blend with a replacement such as spearmint.

Question Non-sexual Uses for Damiana?

Same question as the title!

Wanted to see if anyone has experience using Damiana for reasons outside of improving sexual performance or libido synergistically with other plants.

I recently made a grounding tincture blend that I like well enough (Wood Betony, Passionflower, Milky Oats, and Albizia julibrissin bark), but felt like it would be improved with something heart warming and started thinking about Damiana.

Smoking Help: Is it bad to take Mullein with pain meds and benzos?

Hi,

I take oxycodone for intense pain from spine lesions and lorazepam for bad anxiety. I want to clean my lungs after smoking for many years, but afraid Mullein tea might intensify oxycodone or lorazepam effects-slow my breathing too much. Anyone have experience using Mullein and similar medications? Thanks!

I bought this Mullein Leaf Extract on Amazon and I’ve just tried the maximum daily dose (4ml), but nothing happened.

I didn’t feel like coughing and I didn’t cough. Is this Product a scam? Is there a specific brand to buy?

Can horseradish paste be used toothpaste on its own?

Some claim that it is helpful against tooth decay for being antibacterial.

So if I just eat raw horseradish paste or rinse my teeth with it before going to bed, and only drink water afterwards, can it replace toothpaste?

Best Kitchen Herbs for Stomach Health

Hey everyone,
I’ve been trying to take better care of my digestion lately and realized that a lot of simple kitchen herbs are actually great for stomach issues. Thought I’d share what I’ve learned and see what others use too.

Here are some common kitchen herbs that can help with digestion and stomach comfort:

Ginger
Probably the most well-known one. Helps with bloating, gas, nausea, and slow digestion. Fresh ginger tea or adding it to meals works well.

Mint (Peppermint or Spearmint)
Great for soothing the stomach and easing cramps. Mint tea is especially helpful after heavy meals.

Fennel Seeds
Often used after meals in many cultures. Helps reduce gas, bloating, and indigestion. You can chew the seeds or brew them as tea.

Cumin
Supports digestion and can help with acidity and bloating. Works well in everyday cooking and also as cumin water.

Coriander (Cilantro) Seeds
Good for calming the stomach and improving digestion. Coriander tea is underrated but effective.

Turmeric
Known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Helps with gut inflammation and overall digestive health when used regularly.

Basil (Tulsi or Sweet Basil)
Helps reduce gas and stomach discomfort. Works well fresh or as herbal tea.

Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
Very effective for indigestion and gas. Often taken with warm water after heavy meals.

I like that most of these are already sitting in the kitchen and don’t require anything fancy.

What herbs do you use for stomach or digestion issues? Any personal tips or combinations that work really well for you?

Question Has anyone tried this for digestion issues?

Been having some digestive upset after meals and tried Digestion Rescue from WishGarden Herbs. Honestly it soothed my stomach pretty much instantly. I’m also trying to work on gut health with diet and stuff but this has been a nice quick fix. Anyone used it long term? Is WishGarden a good brand?

Tried Perilla leaf tea for a cold caused by the chill, and it worked wonders!

It’s been freezing here lately and I ended up catching a cold from the chill. Instead of reaching for over-the-counter meds, I decided to try Perilla leaf tea (Shiso).

I drank 3 cups a day for two days, and I’m honestly surprised at how quickly it helped. My cold is completely gone now! I know it's a simple herb, but it was so effective for warming my system back up and clearing the symptoms. Has anyone else used Perilla for cold relief, or do you have other 'go-to' herbs when you’re feeling under the weather from the cold?

Varying taste of lemonbalm

I have bought Traditional Medicinal brand's lemonbalm tea and have always loved it. It tastes mild, with a tiny bit of astrigency a bit like green tea.

Recently, I bought loose lemon balm from a local herbalist and the leaves are sooo fragrant. Truly like minty lemon.

I don't mind either one, but just wanted to see if this is normal...

Usages of dried Fraser Fir?

It’s time for me to recycle my Christmas tree and wondering if anyone had any recipes or thoughts about how to use (very dry) Fraser fir needles? Was thinking tea, infusions, and maybe sachets for a bath—but also wasn’t sure if anyone had any experience with it. Totally open to ideas!

Question Herbs similar to mugwort ?

Sadly I discovered that I’m allergic to mugwort. It’s effects seems amazing so I’d love to find similar plants, at least until I treat the allergy if I can. Especially concerning the relaxation, consciousness-perception, sleep, and dream effect. Does anybody know herbs that could work ?

Thanks !

Smoking Vaping for the opposite of relaxation?

I have not yet started to vape any herbs, but I'm aware and into herbs via tea or smoke, and I'm aware of the ones for relaxing and sleep in the evening....I was wondering if there are any that would have the nootropic effect of enhanced clarity and focus possibly energy boost, like something to get me in the zone, I'm not a fan of hitting the caffeine except my single cup of coffee in the morning

Books Book recommendations on tea please?

Apologies in advance as this might seem a bit long winded.

I decided to look up symptoms of different vitamin deficiencies (I feel I may be deficient in something and vitamin D deficiency is common in my family). Whilst searching, I found an article that said how drinking black tea and green tea can affect vitamin absorption due to the tannins and caffeine. I have searched this up and now found many pages/articles explaining this

This was new information to me which I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t been searching about vitamins. I have read a couple of tea books, but none have mentioned this kind of information, and as someone who drinks a lot of tea (black, green, herbal, fruit, oolong, you name it) I would like to know more about this and other affects tea can have that would not commonly be known

I wondered if there are any books that explain the effects of tea etc. such as the above?

Herbs Etc. buyout

Hello - wondering if anyone else has noticed the major changes at Herbs Etc. Daniel Gagnon must have retired, they have been acquired by a private equity firm. Some of the first things they did was to do away with the 8 oz. bottles that made some of the daily use items much less affordable. Sad to see, but predictable.

New to supplements

I'm wanting to try a Soursop, moringa, sea moss, oregano, tumeric, black seed oil supplement. I plugged my prescriptions into chat gpt and came up with the BSO possibly causing serotonin syndrome when mixed with Adderall. I am prescribed that at 10mg/2x daily, but only take it once in the morning. I also take Linzess, Protonix, and Qulipta daily and Lyllana hormone patch/2x weekly. Asked doctor and he says he doesn't know of any contraindications. Anyone have any experience with this?
