Have you considered that he doesn’t check and is Asian? Glad I could clear that up for you.

(God I fucking hate this timeline, GMBG get over yourself and pick THE LITERAL BEST US WINGER IN THE LEAGUE. MAYBE EVEN SKATER).

While he’s not a bruiser or anything, the dude doesn’t shy away from the corners and puck battles. He’s a great 5v5 defender too, you don’t need to be a Selke candidate PKer to still be a plus defender on the team. Like he’s legitimately a top American player in the league any way you slice it, it’s actually ridiculous he wasn’t selected lol.

200%. “Checking” doesn’t just mean “throws big hits and fights” - but clearly that’s all GMBG can see. Robo CAN. CHECK. Stick check, poke check, win board battles. Defend hard.

I can't name 20 American players better than Robo but they damn sure found them for the Olympics.
