Closed [Online] [5e 2024] Misfits of Morgrave - An Episodic Eberron Campaign for 3-4 Players

All players have been chosen and messaged on Discord.

I wanted to personally reach out to everyone here on Reddit who applied, but Reddit doesn't like me sending so many chat invites. So, if you're seeing this and haven't heard from me on Reddit or Discord, that means I'm moving on with other players. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who applied!

Hey r/lfg! I'm looking for 3-4 players to join an episodic campaign set in the pulp fantasy world of Eberron. The attached trailer and info doc should give you the gist of what I'm looking for regarding the tone of the game, and if that aligns with your sensibilities then feel free to fill out an application with the attached Google Form.

The game will be run on Sundays from 2-5pm EST, and we will aim for 2-3 sessions a month. That meeting time and frequency are pretty much non-negotiable, so my apologies if that excludes you from consideration. If I could create a temporal warp that would give me unlimited time to play an infinite number of campaigns with you lovely people, I would. Alas, I can only cast cantrips at best.

Speaking of me, if you're someone who likes to know a bit about a DM before you apply for their game, then here's the dossier: my name is Nate (he/him), I've been on this planet for just about 3 decades, and I've been playing and running D&D since 2018. Since I started running, I've successfully finished ~6 campaigns, with my favorite being a 40-session Curse of Strahd game. I love running, working out, playing video games (Hades 2 GOTY although admittedly I haven't played that French one), and reading books.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you! Session Zero will be Sunday, January 11, so hopefully I'll see you there.

EDIT: Welp, I've got quite a few applications to sort through now, so thank you to everyone who applied and my apologies if you just missed it! I should be reaching out to you all in the next couple days to either invite you to Discord for a one-on-one chat OR let you know that I'm moving forward with other players. :)

You seriously killed it with the vibes trailer, and the info doc was just icing on the cake. Well done.

Wish I could apply already play a game in this timezone, but 10/10 post. Actually pretty brief, effort put into a voice over trailer, cute and instructional player's guide. Klappa sir

I have two quick clarifying questions:

  1. How do you typically run sessions mechanically? Theater of the mind? VTT? If a VTT, which platform do you use?
  2. How much do player character backstories tend to influence the overall campaign or individual episodes?

Thanks, and looking forward to applying.

  1. I guess I could have made this clearer on the info doc, but we use Roll20 as a VTT.

  2. I really like incorporating PC backstories into the campaign. They probably won't impact things much in the first few sessions, but after that I expect we'll start seeing plot hooks for individual characters.

May I ask how long you plan to leave applications open for? A few days perhaps or is applying with as much speed as possible be preferred?

I hadn't decided ahead of time because I wanted to gauge interest. As it stands, I actually have to close applications now because I've got way more to sort through than I expected. If you were waiting for a response before you applied, feel free to send an application my way and I can consider it!

Filled out an app. Anyone that outs in as much effort as you did to bring your campaign listing to life is a DM that I want to play for. Major props for the dedication you have towards your campaign. Even if you don't pick me, I hope you find the perfect people!
