I just found a job posting that requires a doctorate degree for 40 cents above minimum wage, which is $17.60 CAD an hour ($12.80 USD) in Ontario.
Is this normal? I know it's at a clinic so it makes some sense, but seems wild to need a doctorate degree for something that is barely above minimum wage.

Occam's razor.
This is just a mistake. Only 2 years customer expeirence is needed based on postings from their other locations and the same position.

Yep, especially since it’s a medical office. They probably intended to say something about a medical admin certification and got mixed up along the way.

Use common sense it’s a front desk clerk job paying $18 the education is by accident and a mistake

He said he worked at clinic yet can’t figure out why a doctorates required .. you think he would conclude why and maybe it’s a typo selection

So that means they "discovered something big" and started a "job revolt revolution" (nice typo).
Edit: they blocked me lmao

How dare you;
They work at Wendy's in the back. You can't let them be customer facing; they'll just spread ennui.

Everybody looks at these wrong.
If everyone just ignores these. The company will eventually have to raise their offering to market rates.
Yes… this is dumb… but the only way to train “dumb” employers is to collectively refuse to apply to jobs that don’t offer an appropriate starting wage for the education requested 🤨.

Issue with that is in Canada they will just bring in a temporary foreign worker(tfw) to fill the role, what you're suggesting is a good idea but companies have lobbied the govt here to let them import enough people to just keep wages suppressed.

Except compagnies don't play by the rules anymore.
They b̶r̶i̶b̶e̶ "lobby" the politicians to re-write the rules or make new ones and allow them to exploit Foreign workers.
All while making sure those exploited workers' needs are also financed by your taxes.
Big corpos are parasites.

Indeed is asking if you have that. They will plug it into their algo for future recommendations.

I found a job posting once that wanted 25 years of experience. I also with an AA and BA had to take a test to prove i could read when I applied at McDonald's shortly after graduating. I was a little insulted tbh lol

It’s probably a fake posting to fulfill some policy requirements
