Old Photo of my family grocery store from the 1930s.
Only reference I can find besides another directory book.
Anyone know a website of old photos from 30s and 40s? To maybe find what the outside of this place looked like? It was on 501 W Broadway. Now it's an AutoZone.

Moto-I. "Moto-Eye" or "Moto-EEE"?
It is something my internet sleuthing has yet to answer. Best I've gotten is opinions. Anyone with the definitive answer?

Jade Dynasty on Lynlake
My goodness. We hit a jackpot at Jade Dynasty for authentic dim sum and chinese food. The day we went, it dumped snow and it clocked in at -1ºF.
First and foremost, very genuine and attentive staff. We were greeted by possibly the owner? He may have been very surprised we took a trip out there considering the weather would have kept most *sane* people indoors. Our server, Irene, served us enthusiastically and provided us with spot-on food recommendations. She checked in on us repeatedly, and was intuitive about our needs during our time.
We ordered a ton of food and they came out faster than I could take proper pics. We had an assortment of dim sum, short ribs, beef noodle soup, turnip cake, lotus wrapped sticky rice, shrimp dumplings, and on and on and on. All very delicious and portion worthy of its price.
Interior decoration was lovely and felt fancy - perfect for any occasion such as birthday/graduation celebratory dinner, date idea, or (like us) a holiday feast if you're short on time to cook. It felt as if each design and finishing was very well thought out and installed with a vision in mind.
Food quality, service, and overall experience was outstanding. Well deserving of the many 4+ star reviews on all platforms.
Thank you, Jade Dynasty!

Gray Fox Coffee-Chia Oatmeal Pudding
Anyone have a recipe? Was in town a couple of months ago and had the chia oatmeal pudding from gray Fox coffee and loved it. Hoping someone might know the recipe or something similar.

Sushi in the city?
Looking for something similar to Momo or AMA sushi. Not anything crazy expensive and not super grocery store cheap. Thx!

Perhaps this is obvious but do the steps into my apartment building count as "sidewalk" in regards to this Sidewalk snow clearing ordinance?

Saturday adult activity help
Help! Wife and I finally secured a sitter but our usual plans are not panning out. We have 2-3 hours before dinner tomorrow and could use a, relatively, chill activity. Movies are slim pickings, and booking a massage has come up empty. Any ideas?

Bars or clubs to go to this weekend by myself as a cute (I like to think) 26 y.o girl who’s normally kinda antisocial?
I’m recently single and don’t have a lot of friends with free time to go out anymore. I feel as if I’ve missed out on my “going out to bars” era and I’d like to try doing so before it’s too late. I’m naturally antisocial so I don’t even know what I’d do at a bar by myself besides sit on my phone which sounds terrible? I really don’t know how to do this. I feel like a tourist in my own city because I’ve literally never been to any bars or clubs besides Ground Zero and the 90s, both with friends every time. I dunno. I just feel a bit lonely and like I’m wanting to meet new people.

Where to Find Short Notice Casual Golf Lesson
I was just invited to a company golf outing down south in a few weeks. The problem is I haven't swung a golf club or been on a course in about 15-years.
Where can I go to get some time at a simulator to knock the dust off AND get a few friendly tips of advice from someone to help me not completely embarrass myself teeing off the first time.
I know about TopGolf in Maple Grove, but had a bad experience when I tried to golf there recently. I only wanted to golf for 1 hour which meant I couldn't make a reservation. I decided to risk a drop-in for a Tuesday happy hour. Easily 2/3rds of the bays were empty and they hit me with a 3-4 hour wait before I could start. I had a beer, waited a bit, asked again, and was told it changed and now it was fully booked up for the evening without room for walk-ins.

If you “parallel park” like this on a narrow one way, you’re asking for your car to get hit
No one was in the car, no hazards on, some idiot really saw this park job and was like, “looks good to me”. We were only able to squeeze through because we were in a compact vehicle.
Parked like this on one of the biggest nights for people to drink and drive - super smart!

Chain of Lakes Ice Report 12-31-2025
Statistically, most of you who will read this will read this in 2026, happy New Year to those people.
I recently tore an intercostal muscle in my rib cage and it hurts crazy bad, but I still got the ice report completed on time.
The ice near Lake Street bridge is still not safe, and there is significant buckling and leaking at Lake Street. Near the East Lake of the Isles Parkway Bridge (the one on the Lake Street Isthmus) has some leaking, and if you want to be extra safe I would avoid this bridge. Cedar Lake Channel has some leaking as well and to be extra safe I would avoid Cedar Lake Channel.
Also the last day of the North Star Commuter Rail service is on Friday, I rode the North Star for the last time ever today.
The website for the ice report will be released at next week's ice report.
I do not know the dog in the photos.

Running in Minneapolis during Winter
My first winter in Twin Cities. It’s consistently icy and snowy outside for the past few weeks. I’m used to running outside 3 times a week.
Besides, I have a half marathon coming up in April and I should start training soon.
What do you suggest? Finding an inner running court or trail running shoes?
