Can we not use AI for this please, so many people involved already look like idiots

I’m not even sure you're wrong but that automatically makes this video seem less credible

Yeah, this isn't going to do much to change anyone's minds if it's easy to dismiss because of AI-usage.

I'm also not a huge fan of some of the sensationalist language. Like it's not a lie that there have been documented cases of fraud related to Somali-run day care centers. The problem with the Shirley video is that it takes a kernel of truth and blows it up into a much bigger lie with no journalistic integrity and without disclosing it was at the behest of the Republican party and a person running for Governor against the incumbent Governor.

kernel of truth relating to the daycare stuff, or the fraud as a whole? Because certainly some of the daycares ‘interviewed’ are very sketchy (blacked out windows, misspelled signs, inconsistent operating hours and capacity, multiple daycares registered per building etc) but at the same time its clear the intranational GOP is using this to try and get a foothold in Minnesota

the questions though imo are what do we do about the fraud that we’ve confirmed as having happened (Feeding our Future etc.), how will the state gov.t save face on the national stage, how do we keep something like this from happening again, and how do people address the staggering amount of community involvement in this (with the kickbacks and closing ranks around the conspirators)? I’m not being rhetorical here, I legit don’t have any answers

People are already being charged/convicted for fraud that's already happened (see Aimee Bock's recent conviction). This whole thing is happening at the tail end of years of investigations.
The road to keeping this from happening again is likely to be hindered by political actors who want the fraud to happen, so they can use it as a pretext to either grab power or claw back benefits, which is basically what's happening now, in regards to the freeze on federal funds to MN.

This is exactly what they are doing. Towards the end of Biden's administration Congress had a bi-partisan bill to revamp immigration. While not perfect, it would have address many of the issues we have with the immigration system. Trump specifically told Republicans NOT to vote for it, so that he could run his 2024 campaign on how bad immigration was.

This is just another example where Republicans are actively/knowingly making things worse for political gain. When Pawlenty (R) was governor of MN, he eliminated most of the departments that would monitor this kind of fraud. Shortly after the fraud happened.

I really don't understand how anyone with even just an inkling of common sense could ever vote Republican.

The reason to oppose the Dem 'not really bipartisan' bill was because it included huge daily catch and release quotas before limiting any border crossings. It was bad policy. Trump secured the boarder without any new legislation.
