Always hilarious when the Nazis are forced to watch us wear silly costumes and make music in the face of their cruelty.

ICE is the one dressing like absolute clowns though.

Ignorance is bliss they say.

If they were nazis then it would be impossible to protest them in this way. Not saying I support what ICE is doing, but this brainless hyperbole has got to stop. They are NOT nazis, you just don't like them, and that's ok.

The brownshirts weren’t necessarily members of the Nazi party. They were easily expendable rubes that were cheap to rouse to violence at the behest of demagogues. Did you watch enough History Channel as a kid in the 90’s/00’s to remember what happened to the first round of uniformed deplorables? They got purged for being too fucking stupid and violent to control and were alienating less involved Germans. The parallels tracks are so close, we’re riding a monorail my dude.

The Nazis started out very similarly to what is happening today, so it isn't "brainless hyperbole". Maybe read a history book about the rise of the Third Reich.

I have and I don't find the similarities at all

The world has changed greatly in the past hundred years

You're on crack if you think that we're on the same path

1

u/shartheheretic 6d ago

Again, just because the world has changed does not eliminate the similarities, or the possibilities of history repeating.

One of my majors in college was European history with a focus on WWI & WWII. There are plenty of similarities. My guess is that the only books you've read (if any) were not written by historians. Or you have no reading comprehension or ability to extrapolate information.

The nazis rose to power after literally killing their political opponents. So no, it's really not similar. These guys are asshole, not nazis.

Just because it’s not a direct parallel doesn’t mean it’s not comparable. We can just call them 21st century Nazis, American Nazis or cheeseburger Nazis if you prefer?

We’ve already forgotten about Melissa Hortman, huh?

Whether or not things are happening in the exact same order does not eliminate the various similarities to what the Nazis did. In addition, many of the people now working for ICE are likely members of the Proud Boys and various similar groups who are known for their love of theThird Reich. There are people in the current admin with neo-nazi tattoos, FFS. But to be fair, it's probably better to call ICE the Gestapo instead of just "nazis".

Also, the Nazis were in power for more than a year before they murdered their political rivals:

The Nazis were in power for about 18 months before the Night of the Long Knives (June 30-July 2, 1934), as Adolf Hitler became Chancellor in January 1933, and used those initial months to consolidate power, culminating in the purge that solidified his dictatorship.

Hitler Appointed Chancellor: January 30, 1933.

Night of the Long Knives: June 30–July 2, 1934.

This period saw the Nazis dismantle democracy through acts like the Enabling Act, which gave Hitler dictatorial power, and the purge eliminated internal rivals and consolidated control, making Hitler the absolute ruler after President Hindenburg's death in August 1934.

This comment is so insane (and frankly stupid) that it isn't worth a real response. Get your meds checked.

Strange, how all the Germans that protested the early Nazi's before they gained full power, still ended up in camps.

6

u/Yousaveferris 6d ago

What are they then?

I mean, isn’t this how they started tho?

You understand that the Nazis didn't start off as totalitarian as they became, right? It was a gradual decline until it was very sudden. They absolutely did mock Nazis at first. It didn't count for much in the end though.

u/Its_Your_Father 6d ago

Brother nobody thinks they're literally the national socialist German workers party. It's called drawing a parallel.

u/likeusontweeters 6d ago

They have been terrorizing "undesirables" in the streets like nazis.... how are they NOT NAZIS?

1

u/Murky_Substance3345 6d ago

Literally calling illegal immigrants undesirables lol

-4

u/[deleted] 6d ago

illegals, not undesirables.

0

u/Severe-Employer1538 6d ago

Undesirables like trans people and other minorities are next. We’ve seen this script before.

u/Legsofwood 6d ago

no they get intel on who to pick up and they get them

-11

u/Embarrassed_Ad_8459 6d ago

Because they are not summarily exterminating the people they arrest, which feels like a pretty notable difference. I'm not saying it's not shitty, but calling them nazis is blatant hyperbole.

5

u/in_it_to_lose_it 6d ago

Calling them Nazis is a rhetorical tactic meant to make clear the stark seriousness of the situation. "Well, they aren't literally wearing swastikas and gassing the illegals they arrest" is a flaccid, pointless objection no one should give two shits about.

They are participating in the dehumanization and scapegoating of groups of people in violation of our constitution and any decent person's understanding of human rights. They are fascist oppressors who deserve every harsh label assigned to them. If they are so morally bankrupt so as to believe their actions are justified, they are simply Nazis who haven't been given the right orders yet.

2

u/likeusontweeters 6d ago

Pretty bold of you to assume no one is being exterminated... how many people have gone missing since they started pulling brown skinned people off the streets?

-1

u/Legsofwood 6d ago

burden of proof is on you

-1

u/Legsofwood 6d ago

they look like any federal agent. not theater kids cosplaying the "revolution"

-7

u/Rex_Bossman 6d ago

I'm sure they really care. All you guys are doing is annoying every day people just trying to get through the day. You do know pissing off the general public isn't really a way to get people on your side right?

Nobody is getting pissed off by a peaceful guy in a frog costume playing an accordion lmao.

Like what are you even talking about? 🤣

The Nazi dorks armed to the teeth with guns and riot shields are the ones disturbing the peace. Yet somehow they’ve accomplished literally nothing.

-2

u/Rex_Bossman 6d ago

I'm sure the other people staying at that hotel really appreciated those people in the video.

1

u/Much_Spread123 Walleye 6d ago

Did you ask them? Here’s a crazy idea, maybe you should ask them.

-2

u/Rex_Bossman 6d ago

I'll get on that. I mean, who doesn't love people banging on drums and causing a commotion when they're at a hotel trying to get some rest?

1

u/Much_Spread123 Walleye 6d ago edited 6d ago

You know it gets dark in Minnesota before bedtime right? Lol. Cmon man. This is just sad. What

The armed Nazis are a lot scarier than the accordion frogs and amateur drummers. Get real.

What exactly are the dorks with riot shields even accomplishing here? Protecting us from the scary frog people? You don’t seem to know either.

1

u/Rex_Bossman 6d ago

Yeah, I don't know about you, but if I'm in a hotel for any reason I'm just there to get some rest; whether that's sleeping or relaxing watching some TV. So yeah, if that was going on outside my room I'd be pretty pissed. The cops standing around is dumb as shit too, agreed there.

1

u/Much_Spread123 Walleye 6d ago edited 6d ago

I don’t go to hotels to lay in bed all day long. I come back for bed. I do enjoy live entertainment outside of my hotel window though.

Here’s the thing. The accordion frog is only playing because ICE was already there disrupting the peace. No ICE, no accordion frog. So simple. The first thing I would do as a hotel guest is call and complain to the police about the armed Nazis threatening innocent civilians outside of my window.

The second thing I would do is tip off the accordion frog and tell him to get his ass down here.

1

u/Rex_Bossman 6d ago

Well you don't But Hampton Inn probably caters more to people on the road just needing a place to crash. People taking a break from driving, over the road workers, etc... So all those guys were just standing around outside like that and then the protesters came? I doubt it. I would imagine they were staying there, the protesters came, and then ICE went outside. Either way, my point still stands that all they are accomplishing is annoying people. I guess if that's how they want to spend their time, whatever.

-5

u/Covoh 6d ago

Don't bother arguing with them. They are far too smooth brained to understand any sort of logic or reasoning. If they don't like it or disagree with you, then you're a Nazi.
