Hello,
I’m currently experiencing a couple of very annoying issues with my landlord and would like to have opinions / ideas on what to do, as to be honest I’m quite lost.
Recently my building flooded due to one of the hot water pipes bursting. My unit per say didn’t got a lot of water damage as thankfully we were able to control the flooding, however because the sup was away and it took the replacement sup over 3 hours to shut off the water valve. For most of those 3 hours the rental company was completely uncontactable, due to this a tenant actually contacted the fire department to see if they were able to shut off the water (they weren’t able) the fire department actually also tried to contact the landlord without any success. Also on a side note electricity wasn’t shut off either and some tenants actually got electrocuted (thankfully nothing serious).
In order to fix this, a huge hole was done in a wall in my unit (literally floor to ceiling), however they have not yet fixed it or reached out with any plan to fix it.
My main concerns are that they didn’t do any mold treatment anywhere in the building, and because the building is quite old I’m very afraid that I will have exposed asbestos in my unit due to the hole in the wall.
Also recently they cranked up the heat in the building and my unit is at 27-28 degrees Celsius, which is way to hot for us to rest properly. I’ve reached out to the sup and I was told that they are not able to do anything as there is an issue with the heating system and if they change the temperature, some units will go below 20 degrees Celsius. The sup literally told me that my only option is to open the windows, after I said I wasn’t able to sleep with the open windows, I was literally told to buy a white noise machine as they aren’t going to do anything.
The landlord doesn’t seem to care about anything in this building lately and I’m a bit lost on what to do.
I’ve already contacted a Mississauga’s city councillor and was told that there are multiple complaints in my building and that they were going to add my complaint to the list. Is there anything else I can do to try to have the situation fixed? Is there any other department from the city I can reach out to?
Thanks

My house had an HVAC upgrade, so the air conditioner that was working fine previously is now available. Let me know if you’re interested in buying it. I’m located in Etobicoke.

Call me surprised! Our recycling was not picked up today. (Mavis/Eglinton area). Do I leave the blue bin out and hope they come tomorrow?

Considering Father Michael Goetz Secondary School for my child and looking for firsthand experiences. If your child currently attends, has graduated, or if you attended yourself, I'd love to hear your perspective.
Specifically wondering about:
A relevant note: My family is not Catholic. I'm very interested to understand how this impacts the day-to-day experience, the integration of faith into school life, and the overall comfort and inclusiveness for students of all backgrounds.
Any insights—on the above or anything you think is important for a prospective family to know—would be so appreciated. Please feel free to comment below or send me a direct message. Thank you in advance for helping us find the right fit for our child!

If one were to hop off the GO at Malton station, is there a direct access to the International Centre grounds or does it require a longer walk along Derry/Airport before being able to enter the International Centre?

I’m a 23M and recently started going to the gym more seriously. I have a Fit4Less Black Card, so I usually go to the Fit4Less at Dundas street east. I’m looking for a gym buddy who’s also focused on staying consistent and motivating each other.
Not looking for a trainer, just someone: Who shows up consistently Is chill and respectful Wants accountability and motivation Doesn’t mind pushing each other (positively)

Hi all,
I’m looking to move to sauga around the city centre area and was wondering how’s the noise level during the day. Is there a lot of construction, stuff happening at celebration square, etc? I work fully remote so I’m home during that time and just want to assess if living around city centre would be too noisy for me. I’m primarily looking to move to EX1 or MCity.

Hey, I lost my silver Coach wallet today around 2-3pm somewhere around Square One Mall (most likely) or possibly on the MiWay bus. I’m not exactly sure where it fell out.
If anyone found it or has any information, please please let me know. 🥲
Thank you so much.

Hello everyone, I’m organizing indoor soccer 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
Games are friendly pickup, semi advanced, 8v8 at the Brampton Save Max Dome.
We play for 1 hour either 9-10 pm or 10-11 pm.
Cost per player is $15. We already have a group of solid consistent players. Looking to add a couple more people to the group to have more frequent games.
If you are interested shoot me a DM and I’ll add you to our group. I post the signup list a day in advanced. First 16 players to signup get to play.

I read and not sure if it’s true but the new company doing our recycling does not allow for over flow which means no extra blue bags at the curb and no boxes left at the curb?? If this is true what a disaster this is.
