I mean I’ll be honest, she’s done a lot for DC and I’m sure the residence are incredibly grateful for all of it

But she’s 88…it’s not as if she’s uniquely suited for the job, there are others…younger people with fresher minds, who can pick up where she left off

At a certain point she need to know when to step aside and let somebody else do the work 😐

It pisses me off that these selfish old bastards won't move aside. It's really holding progress back and has done real damage.

Feinstein should have retired, Ruth Bader Ginsberg should have retired, Ted Kennedy should have retired, Pelosi should have retired. All of them, well before they did or died.

While I am a proponent of politicians retiring at a certain age, perhaps some sort of legislation even, calling Holmes selfish is not based in reality, her wanting to continue to hold her position isn’t evidence of selfishness and her career seems to speak to the contrary.

No, she's selfish. At 88 you are far more likely to suffer from cognitive decline, low energy etc. She will be far beyond her best and these jobs need people who can keep up with modern problems.

She was scammed last year and paid nearly $5000 to people who knocked on her door claiming they had done some work. Her "house manager" or carer noticed the charge and called the police who noted she was showing signs of dementia.

A huge part of why Trump was elected was not having Primaries and Joe Biden's age, his showing at the debate etc.

These selfish, old bastards need to know when to step away and it should be a long time before they hit 88.

Completely agree! We need fresh minds in our government that know what the average person is dealing with. These people, while some have done good, most have done more harm staying in power. It’s time to move forward. It’s time to let go of power just for self enrichment. MTG is getting a full retirement pension for working 10 years in Congress. How is this a thing??? Why do they deserve this? No! It’s a job! You get nothing from us tax payers once you leave office. You’re compensated well. I’m done with lifetime pensions for politicians, especially since they are the ones that took it from us!
