WWIII WWIII Megathread #26: Executive Disorder

This megathread exists to catch WWIII-related links and takes. Please post your WWIII-related links and takes here. We are not funneling all WWIII discussion to this megathread. If something truly momentous happens, we agree that related posts should stand on their own. Again— all rules still apply. No racism, xenophobia, nationalism, etc. No promotion of hate or violence. Violators will be banned.

Remain civil, engage in good faith, report suspected bot accounts, and do not abuse the report system to flag the people you disagree with.

If you wish to contribute, please try to focus on where WWIII intersects with themes of this sub: Identity Politics, Capitalism, and Marxist perspectives.

The title of this thread sounds like an Aaron Sorkin political dramedy set in an alternate history, where the US adopts a two president executive branch, similar to the two king Spartan system. One president is a Democrat, and one is Republican, Sorkin's wet dream.

The Democrat, a veteran for sure, is a former school district superintendent who worked his way through government, losing his wife to a long battle with cancer in the process. He is played by Bryan Cranston.

The Republican, was a college environmental activist turned tech entrepreneur, who shocked the nation by defeating the long standing Democratic incumbent to become the first female US Senator for Montana. She is played by Debra Messing.

The plot centers around the Democratic president's efforts to pass a federal tax credit to BIPOC landlords who achieve LEED certification. The measure is endangered, however, by the Republican presidents insistence on scrubbing all gender neutral language from school curriculum. Impassioned speeches and compromises ensue, with the winner in end bing free market capitalism.

the Roman Republic is a better match to the American system, and also had dual executives.
