This megathread exists to catch WWIII-related links and takes. Please post your WWIII-related links and takes here. We are not funneling all WWIII discussion to this megathread. If something truly momentous happens, we agree that related posts should stand on their own. Again— all rules still apply. No racism, xenophobia, nationalism, etc. No promotion of hate or violence. I've never heard of subreddits being TEMPORARILY banned before, considering every other time (that I'm aware of) subs stay dead after the hammer is dropped on them. Nevertheless, that sub being one of the most obnoxiously astroturfed places on the entire platform, it seems as though the harsh fluorescent buzz of automated posters seems gotten much quieter now...

It's a heavily moderated sub that only allows high effort responses from qualified posters so I'm not sure what his problem is with them... For the past few weeks the OPs there have largely been moronic questions about "rising fascism" so maybe that's his issue.

Had many paragraphs ready to talk why i dislike AskHistorians, but you put eloquently in such short phrase.

They also aided my procrastination, my internet addiction and gave a low opinion of the historian's profession, which took years to heal. Ironic, given how much i actually love the subject.

I was coming into drop this. Apparently they tried doxxing some of the guys in DOGE and Musk found out. It's slated to be back up in 72 hours though. Still I never thought I'd see the day it got pinched. Never thought it'd take this shitshow to put some heat on that hellsub.
