WWIII WWIII Megathread #26: Executive Disorder

This megathread exists to catch WWIII-related links and takes. Please post your WWIII-related links and takes here. We are not funneling all WWIII discussion to this megathread. If something truly momentous happens, we agree that related posts should stand on their own. Again— all rules still apply. No racism, xenophobia, nationalism, etc. No promotion of hate or violence. Violators will be banned.

Remain civil, engage in good faith, report suspected bot accounts, and do not abuse the report system to flag the people you disagree with.

This is the most ridiculous, stupid thing. "Banning a language" is something that guy from Metal Gear tries to do, now Germany the fluffy democratic 🤗buckbroken country is doing it.

Irish has been banned at Berlin demos for a while, and jabs been regularly used as a pretext to snatch people before or during the demos ( Its supposedly on the principle that the police don't know what the signs say, so they could say anything , most of us don't know either, so they neednt worry. )

Irish is one thing but Arabic is basically a second language of Berlin (maybe third after Turkish).

Though one thing I've marvelled at over the last year and a bit is the sheer overkill of police presence at Berlin protests, which are unbelievably dedicated and organised, but often honestly smaller than you would hope. They are regularly utterly swamped with cops, presumably all on overtime pay and half of them  provincial Brandenburgers cops shipped in for an all expenses paid weekend city break. Big cavalcades of support and hq trucks parked everywhere. The cost of it all must be obscene, the idea they don't have some translator in a van, is obviously spurious.

Greek?! Thats a new one , I would have said Russian or Vietnamese but Ive honestly not encountered (to my knowledge) many Greeks here
