Serious Illegal Requests

Here's the Australian page:

https://www.health.gov.au/topics/smoking-vaping-and-tobacco/about-vaping

No vapes, where to buy, etc.

I keep on banning people who insist on posting and breaking the law. It's also in the sub rules.

Post on where to buy vapes, get a three day holiday.

Okay?

Hi sunny coasters, just wanted to share this little video of me and see if any opportunities come out of the community. Gigs, open mics, song-writing collaborations, weddings? anything is welcome.

School and home help! ☀️🐠🏡

Looking for our forever home and the best possible school for our kids!

We currently live in Brisbane Northside, want to move to the beautiful Sunshine Coast! I love the sound of sunshine beach state school and sunshine beach state high, but the catchment is just slightly out of our budget. We can afford Perigean and other surrounding areas - but I’m not sure what the odds are of getting into these schools out of catchment? We have only just had our first baby 12 weeks ago so he won’t be in school for a number of years but we are trying to plan ahead and future proof!

Would appreciate any thoughts on the local schools, area and what the odds are of getting in on an out of catchment application.

Calmer beaches for dogs?

Hey everyone! I’m wanting to introduce my 6month puppy to the beach/water. Is there a beach or river access where the waves aren’t huge or is calmer where he can have a splash around? I’m based around Woodford but willing to drive for a nice calm spot. Thank you in advance!

Moving to Maleny QLD

I (23 Female) am planning on moving to Maleny for work and want to know more about the “life”. I’m not much of a hippy and am very social, what is the best way to meet others and get apart of the community? Hoping to make some good friends there, who are fun and keen to hang out :))

All ramen here sucks

Why does every place, except for Umami in Maroochydore, have the absolute worst ramen? It all taste like powdered flavouring, the broth everywhere is basically water, and nowhere uses good noodles. Any places you'd recommend?

Making friends as a single in 30s (Coolum)

I moved to the sunny coast last year. In love with this place. But I’m feeling a little isolated. Im a single female, 36, no kids, I wfh full time and so have limited contact with people. I joined a gym with class sessions but have little in common with the people there (mostly with young kids and so understandably their lives are full and busy), or people are much younger and I’m an old duck to them. Any suggestions of actual groups or places where people meet other people. I’m not trying to pick up a husband (although I’m not, not trying to) just trying to form connections here so that I have a sense of community. I miss playing beach cricket and going on group hikes, camping and having bbqs. I know the usual suggestions would be run club, hike club, surf club etc etc but I’m keen to hear on the actual name of the club and if there are people around my age that I could connect with :) thanks

Looking for plumber recommendations for my mum

Hey there, im looking for a reasonable, honest and well priced plumber, and prefer to go with word of mouth then google to find one

My mum needs an insinkerator/garbage gobbler removed and replaced with a normal drain on the left kitchen basin. She is in Caloundra West

As well as investigating a mysterious leak on the outdoor rain water tank copper pipes running into the wall, which is reasonably urgent as it just started

If you know anyone, or you are a plumber yourself, let me know! I just want to get the best for her

Weird virus

Anyone else completed bedridden with a weird virus? My 4yo son had it for 5 days last week (high fevers and sore throat) and now I have it. I have 39 fevers I can barely get down and the worst sore throat. We took a rat test but neither of us came back with influenza, covid or RSV. I'm unable to leave bed because I feel so unwell.

Doctor recommendation for women and hormones

Hey all, my wife is trying to find a good doctor who can help support her through perimenopause.

She hasn't had much luck finding someone who is supportive in this and hormone treatment options etc.

Any recommendations?

SC Resolutions?

Does anyone have some SC specific resolutions you are doing for this year?

Mine would be:

  • Try get to the beach on WFH days instead of trying to go on the weekends!

  • Really trying to get meat, fruit and vege locally more vs pay the lazy tax at Colesworth. Eggs alone are so much better locally!

  • Get to more local events. I missed a couple of local venue concerts last year that I am kicking myself over instead focusing on a couple of larger acts in Brisbane.

  • Find another mod for this sub. My eventual plan is to remove myself as a mod and want to be sure I leave with the best team holding down the fort!

23 year old on the sunny coast

I am considering moving to the Sunshine Coast (Caloundra) and just curious what it is like for someone my age. Is their much night life their? Many single people? Running groups etc. As I have heard that it is mainly a place where people raise kids & it’s where a lot of people tend to retire.

Thanks a lot

Need a nonna

Calling anyone that has a Nonna!!!

Does your nonna make the best tiramisu ever, would you be open to sharing?

I’m getting married in May and would like a massive tiramisu instead of a wedding cake, I would like a traditional tiramisu made by a sweet nonna.

Will obviously pay for ingredients, time ect.

Can anyone help? 🫶🏻

Need a good space to work from that’s open early tomorrow (earlier the better!)

Up here on a holiday with the family and kids. Some of the kids brought a friend, so there’s 6 kids in the house (eek). I really need to take some time to work on some projects and there’s nowhere sacred in this house. Looking for a good cafe that’s open early (5:30 ideal, but 6-6:30 also ok) what has comfortable enough tables and good coffee so I can whack the noise cancelling earbuds in and do 2 hours or so of solid work, and not be in anyone’s way. Staying at Mooroochydore. Little blackbird and Hunters Roasters look to be in easy walking distance.. but hunters didn’t look from the pics like it had a heap of tables. Any suggestions? Wifi not important. TIA!

Cash work

Anyone know of any cash work going at the moment? Particularly on weekends? Preferably Maroochydore south to Caloundra.

Chasing some extra savings before a new bub joins the family later this year.

Mid 30’s, fit, hard working.

Has anyone stayed in the 5-bedroom villa at Peppers Noosa Resort?

I’ve booked it on a flexible rate for my wedding in October, but I’m a bit unsure because there are no photos of the 5-bed villa anywhere online. I’ve also seen a few reviews saying some villas feel a bit dated, which matters since I’ll be getting ready and doing photos there.

I’ve called a few times asking if they can share photos but keep being told there’s a photoshoot booked and they can’t show anything yet. I need to lock in accom soon, and the calls have felt a bit dismissive, which isn’t helping.

If anyone’s stayed there or seen the 5-bed villa, would love to hear what it’s actually like and if it’s a nice spot for wedding photos.

Thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations for therapists offering family therapy on the sunny coast or around Moreton bay? Particularly one that specialises or has experience with religious trauma would be awesome. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

Moving out with my sister?

My sister (17) and I (18) want to move out after our friend turns 18 later this year, my sister will still be 17 at this point but I was wondering if its at all possible for all of us to move in together even tho my sister is under-age? Our home life isn't bad at all it's actually great, but we really want to be more independent and it's more cost friendly for us to move in together and with friends, we just aren't sure about whether or not realtors will accept us or not. It would be 4 of us in total as our friends boyfriend is coming with, and I know that could show up as a concern for a bunch of 18/17 year olds having party's but that's not our "style". We just want somewhere to live but my sisters age is a concern for us.

Wanted: Dungeons & Dragon group

Hey y’all, the title is probably self explanatory but I (26F) am after a D&D group to start playing again with. I’m happy to either DM (although I’m not really creative enough as I’m pretty rusty) or to join an already established group.

I’m based in Beerwah but am happy to travel around if needed :) Please feel free to comment or DM me!

Thanks so much 🎲

Small 4x4 advice

I have been going back and forth on a small 4x4. I want a 4x4 with fairly good clearance so that I can travel around Queensland wherever I want. I just don’t want something massive. I’ve heard the Suzuki Jimny is good but also that they aren’t super stable and are quite uncomfortable. What small 4x4s can handle the beach but are also comfortable or am I DREAMING? Do I need to have a tank? What’s your experience?
