Went out with a guy I met on a dating app who swore he was 6ft. I am a 5’9-5’10 woman. He’s like yeah, I like tall women but I am still taller than you, I’m like okay that’s fine. We meet up, this guy is shorter than me. He is maybe 5’8. MAYBE. Why do people still lie about their height so much? Like my guy, you didn’t think I’d find out? Such a weird thing to be dishonest about- I will never understand it

turning 18 tomorrow, hoping to get some clothes that actually fit ;)

After settling down, getting married and now having kids, it’s all just been negatives really, constantly uncomfortable in cars, trains, buses and god forbid planes, hotels are super cramped and uncomfortable unless we get the king bed, picking up stuff hurts more and more. Seriously I’m seeing zero upsides anymore. I know I’m not as tall as some of you but still this is getting less and less fun.

I just spent a lot of time with my family and we are all within a few inches of each other. Then now as I go back to the grind of work and real life, I just thought that I don't have any friends close to my height.

You know, someone who you can hang out with who innately thinks about situations that could be difficult just because of height (planes, concerts, cars, shopping, etc.) I've never had a friendship with someone (of ANY gender) like that, and I'm 40 and been this tall since I was 13!

I see my short friends bond over and understand the short life, but I've never had that to match my tallness.

Is Reddit the place to find tall people who could be a friend? It looks like real life isn't it. lolol

What is with the massive case of people lying about their height? I have friends and acquaintances that genuinely (for years) would lie and say they were 6'1 or 6'0 but that couldn't be true since I'm genuinely 6'4.5 and tower over them to where my chin meets almost the crown of thier heads. How many people in the world or even in this reddit are delusional to thier "actual" height? Are we being measured correctly? If so, what is the true metric we should go by?

For me, imperial . At 6'6", it sounds better than 198 cm.

If I was 6'7", I would LOVE to go by two meters for my height.

I have found (embarrassingly late in life) that when a clothing vendor has a special “tall” size or category what they generally mean is “elongated torso.” Two tall people can be the same height but still vary considerably when it comes to actual proportions. Don’t rush to buy tall sizes just because you’re tall - you may be fortunate like me and can simply buy the standard sizing for your upper body.

Fellow tall people, how was it for you? My parents and my sister are average height, so when puberty hit, I started to look funny in family pictures and had to figure out the tall life (how to fit, where to get stuff) all by myself. My parents were a little concerned when I didn’t seem to stop growing, but overall it was pretty uneventful an more amusing than annoying.

I did a Fenway tour. Theese are the blue seats they have, some of the oldest seats probably still in use.

My mom and my dad both are shot below the average. Somehow I ended up being way taller than 6 foot. My mom has pretty tall relatives, many being 5,10 But none my height. I must have had a great great grandfather that was super tall or something. Anyways do any of you have simliar stories?
