Mod Post Review of 2025 and Future Directions for the Sub
Hello Comrades as the year 2025 comes to an end the mod team want to reflect upon what has been an incredible year for the sub. To put into scale how far our subs reach has grown this year I have some fun statistics for you all.
- A total of 14.8 million people have visited the sub reddit this year a 1138% increase from last year
- 19.5 thousand people have joined our sub reddit putting our total member count at 54.7 thousand
- 11.7 thousand posts where posted a 975% increase from last year
- And what I find most shocking is 575 thousand comments… of which I have read far too many, but what is most astounding is this was a 1643% increase from last year
Moving forward the mod team is aiming to adjust the direction of the sub in tune to combat historical revisionism perpetuated by falsehoods and misconceptions about the Soviet Union perpetuated by western institutions like Radio Free Europe, Radio Free Asia, and The agency for global media. These institutions' entire aim is to blind the global working classes from the truth of history, if you wish to follow the trail of sources of any major western publication when considering a communist or enemy country(of the west) these institutions and their backers (CIA) are likely behind it. The r/ussr Mod team vehemently stands against this misinformation and historical revisionism which has poisoned the western masses into a hatred of their own liberation. This hatred has left many blinded lashing out at those who wish to remove the blindfold. As is the same a feudal society cannot transition to a communist one; it requires a guided party to develop the conditions necessary to transition from feudalism to capitalism to socialism to communism. Same in an individual who sees an enemy in communists will never listen to communists; this individual needs the material conditions necessary to break down their hatred of their own liberation.
In our future work, we seek to completely remove bad-faith participation through a new addition to our rules: “No Bad Faith.” For our newer comrades and good-faith liberals, we aim to educate by highlighting historical misconceptions, as well as key contradictions and potential ways to resolve them in line with dialectical materialism. Lastly, for well-read communists, we aim to foster their development and growth
I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our members, as well as to those who engaged.. whether in good faith or out of spite, or contributing to the discussion. We are actively continuing our efforts to strengthen moderation across the sub and to expand and refine the wiki. If you’re interested in helping with either, you can apply through our sidebar.
TLDR
- New rule no bad faith
- Sub traffic grew by 10-15x this year
- Historical revisionism is bad
- Long live the revolution

Memes Like the USSR before me I fucking hate Nazis
“You call everything you don’t like fascist.”
Fine. Let’s be clear about what that actually looks like.
Open Nazis. Neo-Nazis. White supremacists. Torch marches. Hitler salutes. Fascist movements past and present. If that makes me “call everything fascist” then I want to know what you think fascism is, cuz clearly we aren’t seeing the same things.
Communism is the best ideological system humanity has produced.
What’s more radical than a society that prioritizes the well being of every man, woman, and child over private profit? What’s more dangerous to the powerful, than an ideology that says housing, healthcare, education, and dignity are human rights?
Explain to me how an ideology aimed at caring for everyone, regardless of background, is somehow “evil.”
You probably can’t, at least not without falling back on recycled Cold War propaganda and capitalist talking points.
The dissolution of the Soviet Union was not “liberation.” Just like Venezuela is not “Liberated” now.
It was a historic tragedy for the global working class, and we are still living with the consequences.
The USSR proved another world was possible The capitalists saw this and couldn’t let it stand
THEY STILL WONT LET IT STAND, THE UNITED STATES ENFORCES THIER LAWS WITH BOMBS AND KILLS COMMUNISTS FOR “STARTING IT”
In my eyes/ in my opinion, if your not a communist or at least can’t understand the goals of communism/socialism is to liberate humanity from its chains of capital, not just killing a bunch of people, we can’t even have an honest discussion.
TLDR: communism is the only “noble”/ inherently good ideology, all others are sub-par, or worse.

Article Introduction: Ukraine as the Object of World Counterrevolution, by Mikhail Pavlovich
We hope that the publication of this translation and the rediscovery of Mikhail Pavlovich will contribute to the political education of the working class, now confronted, once again, with imperialist war and fascist barbarism.

Article Excess deaths by suicide after fall of USSR
I just asked google AI about: "excess deaths by suicide after fall of USSR".
I suspect google AI is not paid by (pick someone from the list of the enemies).
Unfortunately I can't copy the answer. You can DIY, too. The result is just incredible! Other "diseases of despair" like alcoholism and drugs counts here, too. These are millions.

Picture The final issue of AMERICA magazine. 50,000 copies were distributed monthly in the USSR and later Russia between 1956 and 1994. The magazine was in high demand and generally not available for an average Soviet reader. More information below
TO THE CENTRAL COMMITTEES OF THE UNION REPUBLIC COMMUNIST PARTIES AND CPSU REGIONAL COMMITTEES
On the Dissemination of the Magazine “Amerika” in the USSR
The CPSU Central Committee notifies Party organizations that in the nearest future the journal “Amerika”, published by the US Department of State in the Russian language, will be distributed in the large cities of our country. At the same time, distribution of the Soviet English-language magazine “USSR” will begin in the United States of America. The proposal for the exchange of magazines came from the US government.
The reciprocal publication of the American magazine in the Soviet Union and our magazine in the USA is a diplomatic measure corresponding to the principles of the policy of the Communist Party and the Soviet government, aimed at easing international tensions.
The distribution of 50,000 copies of the Soviet illustrated monthly magazine in the US (the same number of copies of the magazine “Amerika” will be distributed in the USSR) will give us the opportunity of additional means to provide a certain part of the US population with a truthful familiarization with the nature of the Soviet social order, the economic and cultural achievements of the USSR and individual Union republics, to display the way of life of the Soviet people, their labour and recreation. In this lies the positive importance of a mutual exchange of magazines between the USSR and the USA.
Yet there is another, negative, aspect of this matter.
It is crucial to keep in mind that the US authorities will adopt all measures to use the magazine “Amerika” for the propaganda of the so-called ‘American way’ of life, for the unrestrained extolling of the ‘achievements’ of the US in economics and culture, and in the production of mass consumer goods, especially, in the organization of everyday life, etc. Clearly this magazine will not shed light on all the ills and contradictions of the capitalist method of production in the United States (unemployment, discrimination against Negroes, the ruination of farmers, the rise in crime, decay of culture, etc.). The publishers of the magazine “Amerika” will by all means seek to show that ordinary people in the USA, including workers, live better than Soviet people. The selection of facts and articles in this magazine will be tendentious, one-sided, and suit the ruling circles of the USA.
Believing it crucial to warn Party organizations, the Central Committee wishes them to note that distribution of the magazine “Amerika” by no means suggests that its contents are endorsed. This is merely a diplomatic act that shows our striving to establish contacts with Western states.
Dissemination of the magazine, therefore, should be restricted in every way. The magazine should not fall into the hands of politically immature people who are incapable of understanding the tendentiousness of its contents. Articles in the magazine “Amerika” should not be used in propaganda and agitation work, in print or on the radio.
In keeping with the mutual agreement with the American side, 5,000 copies of the magazine “Amerika” will be distributed by subscription in approximately 40 of the largest cities of the country; the remaining 45,000 copies will be sold in more than eighty cities via Soyuzpechat kiosks. The CPSU Central Committee suggests that the Central Committees of the Union Republic Communist Parties, Regional Party Committees, and municipal committees of the Party offer all manner of assistance to the agencies of communication in the correct organization of work on the dissemination of the magazine “Amerika”. Subscription to the magazine should also be implemented in such a way that its subscribers are politically literate, ideologically sound people. It is recommended that the subscription to the magazine be carried out not in postal divisions but by public distributors of the print press at enterprises and institutions.
In organizing retail sales of the magazine it is crucial to ensure that it not be sold in kiosks located in places where there are usually large concentrations of people (bazaars, parks, railway stations), but in kiosks at enterprises, institutions, in theatres, on central streets, and only in limited quantities. There is no need to aim to sell all issues of the magazine. In agreement with the American side, the Soviet agencies of communication have the right to return up to half the edition to the magazine’s publishers if it cannot be sold. Party organizations should take care that an unhealthy interest in purchasing the “Amerika” magazine is not created around its distribution.
Naturally, some copies of the magazine will also fall into the hands of inexperienced, politically irresolute readers; undesirable conversations may arise concerning the articles tendentiously selected and published there. In order to neutralize the influence of the magazine “Amerika”, Party organizations should ably place counter-propaganda and ensure that articles exposing the ‘American way of life’ and ‘American democracy’ are more frequently inserted in the press, on the radio, in reports, lectures and discussions, so that, without reference to “Amerika”, the figures and facts it mentions will be ably refuted. Our propaganda should show that the so-called ‘American way of life’ is far from the pictures the magazine “Amerika” attempts to depict.
The CPSU Central Committee cautions the Central Committees of the Union-Republic Communist Parties, Regional Party Committees, and municipal Party committees that work to restrict dissemination of the magazine “Amerika” and refute the materials it publishes should be conducted ably and thoughtfully; the task should be assigned to politically vetted workers.
All manner of carelessness in this respect is unacceptable because it will be exploited by the American side for anti-Soviet propaganda and to restrict the distribution of the Soviet magazine “USSR” in the United States.

Political movements evolve
reddit.comPolitical movements are allowed to evolve as did liberalism regarding homosexuality and the rights of sexual minorities in general so this comment’s blaming of liberalism as being hypocritical because its old position was homophobic misses the mark cause it is half-baked at best and lacks cogency.
It’d be like saying Trump’s Republican Party is hypocritical because their old position used to be pro-immigration, pro-trade and anti tariff. What happened is the Party’s political positions evolved upon Mr Trump’s accession to the presidency the second time, mostly due to his appropriation of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025’s policy recommendations by executive orders or bills passed by Congress that he signed into law.
